I'm giving a 4 stars rating because the three stories are good. However, I have to protest the lack of information that informs the buyer that two of the three stories are actually reprints of Linda Howard's "Duncan's Bride" and Elizabeth Lowell's "Chain Lightning". Publishing them under the name "Finding Home" does not give the buyer a clue. I felt cheated when having purchased the book, I found out I already had two of the three stories in my collection of Howard and Lowell books. Aside from that, if you haven't read either book, it's a good buy and the stories worth the price.

I also bought this book without a clue, thus was misled by the packaging, i.e. title and cover. It is actually a reprint of past Silhouette titles by Linda Howard and Elizabeth Lowell, plus a new story, Popcorn and Kisses, by Kasey Michaels.Duncan's Bride is my favorite mail order bride story as Howard portrayed the spunky and hardworking Madelyn Patterson very well. The love scenes between Maddie and Duncan are hot! Had read Chain Lightning by Lowell some years ago and it is still as tantalizing as ever. Lowell sizzles with her trademark passion in this story set in the Great Barrier Reef, and you can really feel pulled in by the tale of Mandy and Sutter. This novel is definitely value for money if you have not read the stories by Howard and Lowell and would like to give them a try. I would suggest though, that the publishers be more ethical in future and let readers know in advance what the soon-to-be released books are about, to save the unnecessary grief for unsuspecting readers out there. Otherwise, this collection would've easily earned 5 stars from me.

This review is from: Finding Home: Duncan' Bride / Chain Lightning / Popcorn and Kisses (Paperback)
Finding Home contains three stories, Duncan's Bride by Linda Howard (1990); Chain Lightning by Elizabeth Lowell (1999) and Popcorn and Kisses by Kasey Michaels. Of the three stories, Chain Lightning was my favorite. I had already read Duncan's Bride and prefer Linda Howard's more recent offerings, although the ascerbic waitress character tickled me. Popcorn and Kisses was light-hearted fun reading but a tad formulistic. Chain Lightning by Elizabeth Lowell grabbed my attention and never let go. I felt as though I were on an island and I didn't want to leave. This is the first book I've read by Elizabeth Lowell but it won't be the last!
