I have purchased this book when it was released in the UK in June of this year. I could NOT put the book down, have been a loyal fan of Russell's since the year 2000, he's a fabulous tenor, he's called the "People's Tenor" and is not so well known in the USA as much as in the UK since he lives in Manchester and grew up in Salford. He's the best, the last 3 years have been horrific for him, as you will see when you buy the book. It is heartwarming and heartbreaking, you must order it, and give to loved ones and friends for a gift. They will be Russell Watson fans for life. It is the first book he has written, what a great writer he is, he will make you laugh, and make you cry, and make you angry. So be ready.
After you read the book, or when you start, if you haven't purchased one of Russell's CDs you must, you will find him in the Easy Listening section of the bookstores.xxxx

This is a book I could not put down until I had finished reading it! Russell writes as though he is talking to you and is very candid with a very good sense of humour (which obviously comes naturally!). I will definitley be reading it a second time!

From the kid whose younger days were centered around his sporting life with his friends...to his early attempts to sing in local clubs...to his astounding 'overnight success'--Russell is open and honest with the events of his life. He reveals what was happening in his personal life as his public world was expanding. Then, with all the world-wide success, his two life threatening bouts with brain tumours nearly ended his remarkable story. If you are not familiar with his music, listen to The Voice(opera), his first release. (His newest cd, People Get Ready(soul), comes full circle to this man's infinite talent and vocal range.)
This is a must read for music lovers.
