Russell Watson Autobiography - Best Tenor in the World,
By
This review is from: Finding My Voice (Hardcover)
I have purchased this book when it was released in the UK in June of this year. I could NOT put the book down, have been a loyal fan of Russell's since the year 2000, he's a fabulous tenor, he's called the "People's Tenor" and is not so well known in the USA as much as in the UK since he lives in Manchester and grew up in Salford. He's the best, the last 3 years have been horrific for him, as you will see when you buy the book. It is heartwarming and heartbreaking, you must order it, and give to loved ones and friends for a gift. They will be Russell Watson fans for life. It is the first book he has written, what a great writer he is, he will make you laugh, and make you cry, and make you angry. So be ready.
After you read the book, or when you start, if you haven't purchased one of Russell's CDs you must, you will find him in the Easy Listening section of the bookstores.xxxx

Finding My Voice,

This is a book I could not put down until I had finished reading it! Russell writes as though he is talking to you and is very candid with a very good sense of humour (which obviously comes naturally!). I will definitley be reading it a second time!

THE VOICE in his own words,
By
This review is from: Finding My Voice (Hardcover)
Russell Watson has had an incredible journey in his 42 years. From the kid whose younger days were centered around his sporting life with his friends...to his early attempts to sing in local clubs...to his astounding 'overnight success'--Russell is open and honest with the events of his life. He reveals what was happening in his personal life as his public world was expanding. Then, with all the world-wide success, his two life threatening bouts with brain tumours nearly ended his remarkable story. If you are not familiar with his music, listen to The Voice(opera), his first release. (His newest cd, People Get Ready(soul), comes full circle to this man's infinite talent and vocal range.)
This is a must read for music lovers.

This was the first book I read on my kindle. Mr. Watson's book was spellbinding. I could not put it down. My husband and I traveled from California to New York to hear him sing in person. He has an incredible voice as well as a warm and inviting way with words. Listen to his music and then read about his amazing journey.

If you like Andrea Bocelli, you will LOVE Russell Watson. Unfortunately, he has had some severe medical problems in the past couple of years, so you don't hear as much about him, but his albums are terrific.

I got this book and two CDs (With Love from Russell Watson and Encore) as birthday gifts earlier this year as a way of being introduced to Russell Watson by my friends who seem to be all fans of him. I've been hearing stories about him, his incredible voice, his sell-out concerts, his struggles, etc. from my friends for years but couldn't quite understand why as I wasn't that much into operatic music. Over the course of last three months, I've fallen in love with Russell's version of Miserere, Torna a Surriento, E Lucevan le Stelle, Recondita Armonia, Nella Fantasia, etc. etc. I wake up to his Va, Pensiero every morning. I now own every one of his CDs and the DVD and his music is played pretty much all day long on weekend at our household. After having read this heart-warming and frank account of this full life of his thus far, when I turn on his music I can actually "feel" his heart beats, his lust for life, his love for his girls, all children for that matter. It's not just "the voice" that touches your soul, it's the soul in his music that touches your heart.
I've since introduced Ressell to my extended family and friends and they, too, were surprised how much they've been effected by his story, by him as an artist as well as a person. Truly, he and his music are gifts from God. We look forward to his next CDs and books. May God bless him and his loved ones.

Knowing Russell's origins & his beginnings was quite interesting for me to read. I feel he is really a showman who enjoys every aspect of being on stage & to me, his singing can't be equaled by anyone. Others are good -- Russell is fabulous.

Very disappointed in Russell's effort with this book! Having read it, I would not suggest it to my friends to read. However I do appreciate his voice very much and will go on listening to his CD'S and viewing his DVD's.
