Finding N.E.D. by Michael W. Brown is a very meaningful book to read on many levels. It is truly a love story between Amanda and Michael that will live on forever. I was able to finish this book in just a couple of evenings. It is not a lengthy story, but packs an extremely powerful punch. The photos Michael included really brought it home to me what this disease can do. I was so very touched by what Amanda went through. And the level of support Michael provided to his beautiful wife throughout this battle really touched my heart deeply. I don't know how he did it! I feel that I know both of them better now. The story is fairly non-judgmental in it's dealing with the subject, but really showcases the awful disease melanoma. Everyone who reads this book will then understand how important it is to tell our family, friends and neighbors to take care of protecting their skin so they will never have to go through this! Melanoma is preventable! Spread the word! Let Amands's voice tell you! Finding N.E.D. is a MUST-READ!

I found this book through my Linked In connection and agreed to read and review it. The author provided me with his PDF. This book is the story of Amanda Faye Brown, written by her husband with Jane MacLean Craig, and is the story of her battle with melanoma.

Melanoma is a subject which interests me greatly as I lost my eldest brother after he was diagnosed with a reoccurrence of a melanoma which had been removed from his back ten years previously.
The sun did this to him; when he was a youngster on the farm he worked bare-backed in the fields. The melanoma came back after being surgically removed, and was found first in his lymph nodes and then in his brain. He died of a heart attack shortly after, so was spared all that Amanda Faye suffered.

I, too, read this book in one sitting, captivated by every word, suffering with Amanda through her almost daily travel to doctors, chemo therapies, searches for better answers, and in the end, the cancer forcing its way to her skin leaving her in chronic pain, misery and disfigurement.

I watched Michael, caught in his own pain, but constantly pouring out love and encouragement to Amanda. I watched Amanda, despite her pain, participating in family and friends celebrations, wearing a smile so others would not know how much she hurt. Though Amanda's journey was beyond painful, both Michael and Amanda--placing their faith in God and continuing to hope for a better day--inspired the reader.

Finding: N-E-D (No Evidence of Disease) was well written and addressed a timely issue: How can I protect myself and loved ones from this disease? Thank you, Michael for your courage in writing this, and your work to spread the warning about Melanoma.

This book should be a wakeup call for all those fanatic sun worshippers who think melanoma can't happen to them. Amanda Brown was in her late 20's when cancer struck her hard. Her story of courage and determination, and her husband's never ending devotion to her, is a lesson in love beyond all the odds. My husband and I will now make going to a dermotologist on a yearly basis a faithful practice. Cancer knows no age, economic level or gender when it rears its ugly head. Read it and wise up.

This is a wonderful book of love, strength, and courage! FINDING NED chronicles the life of Amanda Faye Brown from when she first met Michael, to their marriage, to the battle they waged against melanoma. The reader will experience many different emotions as they read this true-life love story. You will cheer with the victories, gasp at the injustices, and cry as you feel Amanda's and Michael's pain. Sad to say, I have always been a "That will never happen to me," person. This book has certainly made me aware of the REAL dangers of suntanning. I love spending time in the sun, but now I am extra careful to make sure I use plenty of sunscreen and limit my sun exposure. This is a REAL disease, and a PREVENTABLE one! If you know of anyone who has cancer or has died of this horrible disease, this is a definite MUST READ!

Finding N-E-D (No Evidence of Disease) is a powerful true story about Amanda Brown's life and challenges she faced after her diagnosis of Malignant melanoma. It is also a beautiful love story she and her husband, Michael Brown, shared. The book is meant to not only share their life together, but also to inform and educate others about this very preventable disease. Most people don't understand the ramifications of sun tanning. I know I didn't. But having read this book (I ordered several to give to friends), Amanda's legacy is not only one of hope, determination, humility, understanding, tolerance, and unconditional love; it is most importantly, a legacy of her great Faith in Jesus, and His promise of eternal life.

I just heard about this book on Jet1400 am radio in Erie, PA, and I hope to read this soon. My family just received good news about a loved one's biopsy, but so many don't get that good news. Thank you for having the courage to write this so that others can be educated on the dangers of skin cancer.
