I have always admired Dr. Charles Stanley. For this Christian he has always been a source of wisdom. The Book FINDING PEACE is just the ticket if you, like me, at times, find yourself frustrated and not at peace. It is good practical, Bible based wisdom. It is a great study of the human condition. The only fault I find with the book, and it is a minor one, is that it is one thing to take control of your thinking and quite another to be caught up in circumstances beyond your control. I think that could have been addressed a bit more thoroughly. That being said, there is a lot of great Bible based advice in this book. I can recommend it.

I've always felt that "The Source of My Strength" was Charles Stanley's unchallenged masterpiece. "Finding Peace" runs a close second. While it should be common sense for all, we need to be reminded on occasion that life is to be "lived," not "endured." Anxiety, fear, worry...these are all a matter of choice. And YES, it's easy to say that, but just as we make a choice to burden ourselves with those emotions, it requires a conscious choice to free ourselves. Charles Stanley offers practical wisdom, not "easy" solutions or pop psychology. It's a matter of faith: trusting God, trusting yourself. The people who are willing to do so, even if it requires a series of attitude adjustments, are the intended audience for this book. I've given it as a gift to close friends and will continue to do so. Very highly recommended.

"Finding Peace" is yet another great book by Charles Stanley. The book's focus is on realizing that our peace rests on our personal relationship with Jesus Christ instead of circumstances. Dr. Stanley challenges the reader to take responsibility and be proactive in finding peace through a relationship with God instead of fuming and fretting over the situations we find ourselves in.

Among the great points mentioned in the book are:

1. Issues that can cause destructive conflict.
2. God is larger than our challenges.
3. Four clear signs of God's peace.
4. Why we lose our peace.
5. 5 essentials beliefs for a peaceful heart.
6. 7 categories of peace-destroying thoughts.

10. 4 keys to living in contentment.

I also appreciated Dr. Stanley describing his own struggles when his wife filed for divorce and yet was able to obtain peace through the trial.

Read and be encouraged to seek peace in the Lord instead of yourself, others, or your circumstances!

Highly recommended.

This book is dynamic!!!
It has given me a new insight on how to deal with
everyday struggles in life.
Dr. Stanley's approach is simple and yet practical.
My outlook on life is much different now.

If you have not read this book by Dr. Stanley, you need to read it. You owe it to yourself. I continue to be amazed at his use of Scripture as it applies to the human soul.

I highly recommend this volume.

Wonderful book. Dr. Charles Stanley has done it again with this book. Wonderfully written.

It never really made sense to me until after I started reading this book. God really does love us. He's the only one that we can always count on and our focus should always be drawn back to him.

I throughly enjoyed reading this book by Charles Stanley. I enjoy listening to him on Sunday mornings. He has done so much for me. The book has helped me to gain more insight to having peace in my heart by letting God be in control of my life. Thanks for a great book and the way you explained having Peace within.

Charles Stanley is one of my favorite authors. I honestly believe that God uses him so much to reach out to others. This book I have read many times and each time I learn something new. In today's fast paced world, we get caught up in the stuff that truly does not matter most of the time. We try to keep up with the Jones', we try to be a super hero to everyone and we get burnt out fast. We fret and sweat over things that don't even deserve it. We keep going round and round in a vicious circle until we are spent and broken. We turn to secular ways for solutions but we never find them. Charles Stanley gets down to the nitty gritty and makes us really think. He uses his own situations from the past and how he also was filled with anxiety. Then he shows us how it turned out and how God was in control all along. When he felt like his world was on the edge of a cliff with only a string left to hang onto, God surprised him and lifted him up to safety.

We can look back on times in our own lives where we thought that it was the end of the world. Oh how we were in such despair! Now that we can look back and see how it turned out, we realize how foolish we were to think that God left us!

This book has not only touched my life but many others who I have loaned it to. Once again, God has used Charles Stanley to touch us, refresh us and let us know just how much God loves us.
