His grandfather is King Astyages, the ruler of the Median Empire, who imprisons the prince for spurious reasons. Cyrus survives multiple assassination attempts initiated by family, governmental, and tribal officials. He survives wounds caused by battles and an animal attack. He finds true love that creates new difficulties with his mother. He travels the length of ancient Persia with soldiers who love the rugged terrain and teach him about military life. The customs of the country are colorfully depicted. Peasant life and survival are revealed to the prince in such a way that he develops a personal philosophy that makes him proud of his heritage.

About the Author

C. J. Kirwin retired from a career as an industrial toxicologist. His extensive travels led him to take an interest in ancient history. After a family member introduced him to Cyrus the Great, Mr. Kirwin was surprised to find Cyrus so prominently represented in important segments of the Old Testament, which he had never read. After years of research he decided to integrate historical inconsistencies about the childhood of Cyrus into a fictional novel. Mr. Kirwin lives in Oklahoma with his wife, three daughters and four grandchildren.

"Finding The Persian Way," is a wonderful story of the middle years of Cyrus the Great of Persia. This excellent book is one of a continuing series about Cyrus's life and times. The reader will get a sense of early Persian culture plus a great story of action and intrigue during early Persian history.
Precede this reading with Cyrus's early years in "Dawn Of The Greatest Persian."
