Book Description

June 11, 2008
Everyone around Stefanie Noble is content, but it seems that her "happily ever after" has passed her by. Then two troubled girls and their older brother, Gideon, show up in town and clearly need help. Could they bring the fulfillment that Stefanie has been searching for? Hollywood hotshot Lincoln Cash has made a life playing the role of an action hero, basking in the laurels of his fame, fortune, and adoring fans. But when he's diagnosed with a debilitating disease, he knows that life will soon be over. He only has a small window of time to start a new career, one that will earn him legitimate filmmaker kudos. He soon heads to Phillips, Montana, to put his plan into action. Not everyone is pleased with the movie star's arrival, especially not Stefanie Noble. She's even less enamored when he accuses Gideon of arson and tries to run him out of town. But what Lincoln and Stefanie don't know is that neither the fire nor the other strange things that have happened around town are really accidents. Someone is out to get them . . . but who? And who is the real target?

Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

Stefanie Noble, a ranch hand on her family’s Montana land, feels like she will never accomplish anything. Movie action-hero Lincoln Cash has a secret that drives him out of Tinseltown. Fresh out of juvie, Gideon North has sprung his sisters from a foster home and moved into a deserted ranch house. Their lives converge in a night of conflagration, and Stefanie offers shelter to the Norths, and they begin to heal. Gideon falls in love with Libby, who wants to be a missionary and whose preacher father forbids her from seeing him. Warren’s characters have all made painful mistakes. As they find love with each other and through God, their lives head toward a happily-ever-after ending, although not without danger and fear along the way. This extremely satisfying romance has endearing characters, believable situations, and kisses that are far more romantic than the explicit couplings so prevalent in romance today. Although Warren can be a tad preachy, her characters’ relationships with God ring true and are integral to the plot. --Diana Tixier Herald

More About the Author

Growing up in Minneapolis and attending the U of MN, I learned to love city life, although I'm a woodsy girl at heart. Or maybe I'm an adventurer -- having lived and traveled all over the world, including Siberia Russia as a missionary for eight years. Probably that's why my characters can't sit still, and seem to get into one scrape after another -- they're too much like me! I love God, my family, my country, my church, and feel privileged every day to be able to write stories, that I hope inspire and entertain!

5.0 out of 5 stars First Impressions and Second Chances August 13, 2008
Format:Paperback
I think that Stefanie's book was my favorite out of the whole series. I'm not sure if it's because she was the only girl and I felt that I could relate to her the most. She is very strong willed and is completely capable of taking care of herself. I think she's actually the most "noble" of all the Noble siblings. There's nothing in her past for her to be ashamed of. I liked Gideon's story as well involving his relationship with Libby. I didn't like her dad too well because for a pastor he was rather quick to judge. You'd think he'd be willing to look for the good in someone first before trying to kick them out of town. I felt in the beginning that Gideon was being too proud by refusing help but in the end he gave in because of his sisters. The mystery was very well played throughout the book. I missed the small clues about who it was so I was surprised at the end to see who the perpetrator had been. I liked Lincoln as well. He was a multi-dimensional character with a lot of secrets that he had been hiding for years. He and Stefanie had good chemistry throughout the whole book. The only thing that is still baffling me is to why Stefanie and Rafe never acknowledge Cole as their brother even though from the first book we find out that he actually is. My only guess is that they still have not found this out.Regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. While I am sad to see the series end, I felt like this book tied up many loose ends and had a satisfying ending. I shall miss the adventures of the Noble kids and the life of ranching.

5.0 out of 5 stars FINDING STEFANIE July 30, 2008
Format:Paperback
FINDING STEFANIE, the third book in the Noble Family Legacy series was a great read. We've gotten to know Stefanie briefly from RECLAIMING NICK and TAMING RAFE but we really got a closer look at her and the struggles she has faced in life in FINDING STEFANIE.
When Lincoln Cash, Hollywood heartthrob decides to put down roots in Phillips, Montana, Stefanie wonders if they might be able to pick up where they left off when Lincoln was in town shooting Unshackled the previous year. But, when a drifting teenager - with his two sisters in tow- accidently burns down the ranch Lincoln purchased, Stefanie realizes the Lincoln Cash she previously met is not the same man who's moved in next to her family ranch. We follow Stefanie as she takes in three runaway kids, convinces herself Lincoln is not the man for her, and questions her life and where it is going.
Several story lines converge making FINDING STEFANIE a fast-paced read. The plight of Gideon and his sisters, Lincoln's attempt at hiding his condition from the world, and Stefanie feeling dissatisfied with the way her life has turned out has you turning page after page to see how each of these people find resolution. Throw in an overprotective preacher sheltering his teenage daughter and a stalker bent on getting revenge and you have the perfect makings of a romance/suspense novel that you will not want to put down.
FINDING STEFANIE was my favorite out of the three books in the series. And though I am an avid PBR (Professional Bull Riders) fan and thought I would swallow up TAMING RAFE, FNDING STEFANIE hit a cord with me. There is a little cheesiness here and there as Stefanie refers to Lincoln as a superhero and a few places that I was screaming at Stefanie to stop being so self-depreciating, but other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Series April 13, 2013
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is the third and final book in this series and I so enjoyed it as well as the first two. Warren wrote this series with a bit of humor, lots of great imagery and plenty of dialogue between not only the main characters, but the minor ones as well. I have read other books by this author and would recommend any of Susan May Warren's novels.
