Most of us have times when we feel eager for adventure. Our lives may be seem humdrum and we'd like some super-hero action. "Finding Summerland" is a reminder that our safe lives just might be OK, after all.

Wesley is a high school misfit in a wealthy and social family. His mother, older brother and younger sister all love attention and social events, whereas he is a loner who isn't interested in any of the girls he knows, much to the chagrin of his best friend, Wyatt. To make matters much, much worse his adored older brother has disappeared and is presumed dead.

All that changes when he meets Olivia. Beautiful, as much in love with Wesley as he is with her, she even rescues older brother Channing and returns him to his family.

But ... there are a few problems with this glorious romance - like the fact that Olivia isn't really human. And her noble rescue has put them both in deadly danger.

I was rather annoyed when the book ended because I want to know how it turns out. But since this is volume 1 of 'The Ameryn Chronicles', the author has done her job of keeping us tantalized. I am looking forward to reading volume 2 whenever it appears.

Starting out with a strong prologue, this book takes you on an amazing journey. At first it reminded me of Hunger Games but with a paranormal twist. The main character is an 18-year old boy with a lot of inner strength and maturity. Even though the reader finds out he attacks his best friend in the first few pages, the rest of the book keeps you on edge and wondering why. I found myself reading very quickly toward the end, anxious to find out what happens next.

There are many characters, but they are well drawn and distinguishable. This book will definitely appeal to the young adult reader as well as their parents. If you want adventure sprinkled with romance, I recommend Finding Summerland! But, beware, even though the book ends and gives the reader a satisfied feeling, there remain the nagging questions that still plague Wesley and will propel you to read the next volume.

I received a copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review. This was a fun book with some aspects to it that made me think it was "Twilight + +". I loved the story, it jumps around a bit but eventually comes together. I think this was the first time that reading the prologue actually gave me an all around feel for the novel. It drew me in and kept me interested. I also loved the way it helped you understand Wes and all he was experiencing, what he felt. All in all, a pretty good book. The only issue I had was that it left me hanging, now I wait in anticipation for book two!

A book that shares with the reader; character building, lots of plots, and guesses as to what happens next.

This is a wonderful love story - a fight for love and all that goes with that - it leaves you waiting for the next chapter with anticipation. With a wonderful dip into what will be the `ever-after' world, I can't wait for the rest of this book to see what will happen as the characters are changing near the end of this first part.

The characters weave in and out this story to encapsulate the reader and intertwine with the story being told, so as to leave you wanting more - a brilliant read.

Paige Bleu is a great story-teller, so here's to the next part...please, quickly!

There are mirages and memoiresque places which left this reader to wonder about secret meanings...as the writers voice takes us into these voyeuristic, eclectic, interior dialogues. It is the interior, the text life and real life, they interconnect and sometimes transform out of recognition to a dream state. Ideas and feelings are explored through personal characteristics and experience of the character. So in this way the story becomes unlimited. Because while I sense this book has a hint of autobiographical, it is not limited by it. And that is essential feat when there is more than one book in the series.

OK.... so to review this book the right way and give nothing away I can honestly say I cannot do that haha. When I first picked up Finding Summerland I was also reading another book and all the amazing things from both books got scrambled in my head so I set this one down a couple days. When I picked it up again I started back from the beginning so I would leave NO detail unread.
rereading something I previously read went a little slow in the beginning but before I knew it I was flying through the book wanting to know more about Olivia and Wes!
Wes wasn't your typical teen he comes from a extremely wealthy family and Olivia she wasn't typical either she was from the SEA! (I know, wow. right?!) this story sprinkles bits of myths that I am sure everyone at one point or another has read about, through out it. this is the kind of book that will make you think and keep you on your toes. some of the details that Paige Bleu incorporates seem looked over at first but in reality she is painting a picture of sorts with her words pulling you deeper in to what is happening or what is going to happen next. I really enjoy Paiges' writing style and I truly did enjoy this book and would honestly whole hartedly recommended it to others. I am also excited to read more of Wes and Livs' story
