If you plan to show (or simply watch) "Waiting for Superman," this book offers a helpful and insightful counter narrative to the film. It discusses many of the misrepresented or misconstrued aspects of the propaganda presented in the film that deserve to be more thoughtfully addressed without the pandering to our heartstrings and bashing teacher unions. I recommend using this book alongside the movie to get a more comprehensive picture of the many aspects and concerns that revolve around issues of school choice, teacher professionalism, and accountability.
