This has been the worst year of my life. I lost my job. I have $1200 in the bank. I haven't been able to make a mortgage payment in four months. I am frustrated and embarrassed and I was so lucky my sister sent me this great book.
The writer has a real knack for touching me on the deepest level, reassuring me, showing me how it is up to me to stay in the game and be creative and keep fighting. This book helped me to come up with an action plan that will carry me through this tough moment and back on a path to success. This is one of the most inspiring books I ever read and it is SO TIMELY!!!

My best friend sent me this book about ten days ago when I was in the worst funk I have ever been in. I love it. Fawn Germer shows how we have to make the decision to persevere and win -- no matter what comes our way. I have been feeling depressed by all the bad news, and my heart was breaking because I kept hitting the wall. The author says her motto is "Fall down seven times, get up eight," and shows how those of us who do that will ultimately rise above the bad economy.
The reason I read it a second time and will read it a third (and probably fourth) time is that the writer has a real way of speaking directly to me and making me feel better. I can honestly say that this book has given me a new outlook, and I will always turn to it when I start to feel frustrated or down. I like how Fawn Germer reminds us to keep perspective about the blessings we do have and gives us the tools to take charge of our negative thinking through affirmations especially geared toward making it through our challenges. I don't know what else to say. I recommend this book highly.

Like just about everybody, I am really torn up by what the economy is doing to me and my family. It feels like I am on the verge of losing everything -- house, job and sanity. Fawn Germer really calms us down, showing how to take charge instead of giving up. I became a fan of Fawn several years ago when I saw her speak at a conference. This book is great because it is long enough to make the point and short enough not to overwhelm us. I truly feel better because of the good advice in this book. I realize that the thing I need to fear more than anything is a bad outlook. Fawn Germer shows how to make yourself more vital in the office, use the troubled economy to your advantage and what to do in case you need to find work.
This really is worth its weight in gold. |
