Essential,
This review is from: Finding Work That Matters (The Inner Art of Business Series) (Audio CD)
The title of my review stems from my belief that thinking deeply about the messages in this book are essential. It is essential to consider what we are doing with our lives, and jobs/work takes up such a huge portion of our day and lives that it is important to align this area of our life with who we want to be and who we believe we truly are.I truly feel this book has important ideas and questions to think about, and without doing so we are much more likely to end up living a less fulfilling life. The pro's of this (audio)book are that it is easy to comprehend and Mark Albion gives straightforward questions that you can ask yourself. If you fly through the book and don't answer these, however, I think you won't get much - if anything - from your time. Basically, he helps you explore important areas of yourself, what you do and will do, and ultimately I believe his aim is to set you on a path toward a richer life. I would recommend this to anyone who seeks more meaning in their life or work, and to people who are value-conscious.

Nothing here you couldn't get from your friends or parents. Basically a feel good speech encouraging you to follow values centered work over the naked pursuit of money. Skip this one. I'm glad I bought it used. I don't know how the other reviewer could give this one 5 starts since there was nothing deep or new here. Good intentions and that's about it. I have often wondered about some of the reviews on Amazon, especially for reviewers that have only ever left one 5 star review or with all their reviews rating things 5 stars. Can I live in their perfect universe?
