2.0 out of 5 stars Maybe useful for the non-professional or second careers
I just completed this book and was disappointed and wished I would have spent the time I wasted on this book in a more useful manner (sleeping would have been more practical for me). This book is geared toward the non-professional, someone looking for a second income, for the stay at home spouse, or retired person. It was not helpful for me. I am an advanced...

Wow!! Whenever I think I have no choices I pick up this book and reenter the world of possibilities! I love the stories of 'real' people and how they've found their 'perfect work'. They should teach this in schools - everyone needs to know how to do this.

The "Personal Style Survey" really explained how what activities I do naturally are some of my greatest assets. The Directory of Self Employment Careers (1600 + Independent Creative Careers) provided great ideas for making money just by being myself! And that's just a small portion of the book. This is a must have for any one considering the wild, wacky and wonderful world of self employment.

4.0 out of 5 stars Inspired Writing..., February 5, 1998
This review is from: Finding Your Perfect Work (Working from Home) (Paperback)
This is the best book in the Edwards' stable. The other books really didn't stand out from the pack. This one is inspirational and filled with stories of folks just like the rest of us who found their perfect work. Finding Your Perfect Work is thought AND action provoking - definately one to be read again and again. I hope they can continue in this way and move away from the formula home business how-to type of books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for the new bootstrapper or home-based business, September 2, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Finding Your Perfect Work (Working from Home) (Paperback)
I was referred to this book from someone in my Trading Circle at LassoBucks.com and it was great. It coincides with what I accomplish with LassoBucks as a powerful bootstrapping tool, but the book helps me to focus on the things that are important, which is independence by starting my own business.

You won't be able to put this one down. And, this volume is packed full of advice directly related to help you design your "Perfect Work" and put that plan into action. 5.0 out of 5 stars Helping to bridge the career/personal life gap, April 9, 2002
By
This review is from: Finding Your Perfect Work (Working from Home) (Paperback)
Through a series of thoughtful exercises, this book helps you take inventory. What are your interests, talents, experiences, education, style, priorities, gifts, and passions? How can you combine them to create a career that reflects you better than any job you've ever had? This book guides you to the answer. This is not a book that gives you a test and tells you that, based on the results, you should be a plumber. Instead it shows you how to create your own toolbox of skills and interests, offers plenty of suggestions and examples, and encourages you to find the right path to your ideal career. This book guided me through a successful career change, and I have recommended it to several friends considering the same.

4.0 out of 5 stars Discover You Truly Are!, March 9, 2001
This review is from: Finding Your Perfect Work (Working from Home) (Paperback)
If you thinking about becoming a free agent or one already, this is a great book on the choices and opportunities open to you. The worksheets in the book are useful in the discovery of your self. With numerous profiles, you can mix and match to come out with ideas and possibilities of variants of conventional work and jobs to some unthought of products or services you could provide. Even, if you are not thinking about changing vocation, the book is worth a read for ideas and possibilities for personal development and growth. You would be surprised at what you will unearth about your capabilities, your gifts, your assets and your passion. It's a kind of book you'd stick on your personal book next to "What Colour Is Your Parachute?". Get the idea - both are 'work support' books!

4.0 out of 5 stars Practical advice on figuring out work for self-employment, February 12, 2002
This review is from: Finding Your Perfect Work (Working from Home) (Paperback)
This is the first book that I've found which focuses on figuring out possibilities for self-employment without basing it mostly on what work you have done in the past. Requires a willingness for self-assessment. Very helpful read in combination with "Changing Directions Without Losing Your Way" by the same authors. There is some overlap between this book and others by these authors, exactly the same stories and advice.
