“Finding Your Way Through the Maze of College Prep Tests” is a succinct little book that explains the AP and SAT Subject tests needed for college. There is a very brief overview of the SAT and ACT as well. Lee gives a thorough explanation of each kind of test, when and how to register, how to cancel scores, and even makes recommendation on which tests to choose based on intended college major. The book also contains a list of resources for textbooks, online classes, study helps, and tutors. Of particular interest to parents of gifted students is information on handling these tests at young ages. This quick read would be useful to any student headed to selective colleges and the parents that encourage or teach them.

If you are looking for a solid, no-nonsense guide to navigating the daunting seas of college prep testing, this is the book for you. Sharon Lee demonstrates deep knowledge of the testing choices and provides many details that are often-missed in flashier "How to..." books on achievement testing. I now carry this book in my handbag. When someone asks me ..."Hey, what's the difference between the ACT and the SAT", I whip out this book and read from it. If you are a mom of a college bound student - you NEED this book !
