Book Description

The Highlands of Scotland, Autumn 1344…..

She had won his heart without trying… and he can only pray for the chance to give her his.

When Findley McKenna returns after his battle with the English to offer Maggy Boyle a home amongst his clan, he finds only death and destruction instead of the young widow who has stolen his heart. The only thing left of her home is the burned out hut and decaying bodies of the auld people Maggy has taken care of for the past three years. With only a prayer, his Highlander heart, and a bit of bloodied plaid to cling to, Findley will crawl through hell if he must, in order to find Maggy and her sons and avenge the massacre before him. She had won his heart without trying, and he can only pray for the chance to give her his.

How can she place her trust or her heart in the hands of a man she barely knows and maintain her freedom and keep her secrets hidden?

Maggy has secrets, and her own hell to crawl through, before she can give her trust or heart to any man. Fearful that the uncle of her late husband will force her into a marriage with another cold and vindictive man, she goes into hiding to keep her true identity secret and her adopted sons together. After her home is destroyed and her young son kidnapped, those secrets begin to unravel, one agonizing thread at a time. How can she place her trust or her heart in the hands of a man she barely knows and still maintain her freedom and keep her secrets hidden? Findley McKenna is her last vestige of hope at keeping both.

Review

The Saga Continues....Findley's Lass is Book Two of The Clan MacDougall Series. We met Findley in Book One, Laiden's Daughter. Findley is one of the young men who helped find the 'reivers' who had stolen the cattle. He's also the one who became quite enamored with the reiver's mum. This is their story...and yes...we do get to meet up with Duncan and Aishlinn, and Angus again! I hope you enjoy!

3.0 out of 5 stars Findley's Lass September 10, 2012

I must agree with the previous review. I found the heroine extremely annoying with her shrewishness through the whole book and was having trouble seeing what he saw in her other than she was beautiful. Findley always seemed to be daydreaming of what she could be like and not what she was. She was continually screeching about something to Findley and it became very tiresome. I did enjoy Wee William and can't wait for a story about him. The villain was interesting in this story as well. A lot more interesting than the 2 main characters. It's too bad about this book. I did love Suzan Tisdale's first book in this series Laiden's Daughter so I will still give her next book in this series another shot as I did enjoy Laiden's Daughter.

3.0 out of 5 stars Findley's Lass September 5, 2012

Finally healed from his injury in battle, Findley heads out with his men in hopes of bringing back the beauty that ensnared his heart after only a brief meeting that has occupied his mind ever since, only to find her and her sons missing and her village destroyed. Though they catch up with Maggy and four of her sons, they find a fifth son was taken captive, and Findley promises to get the young boy back for her. This story was well-written, fast paced, full of action and included a good bit of comedic relief here and there. Unfortunately, I had a very hard time liking Maggy, especially during the first half of this story. She was abrasive, foolishly headstrong and beyond her beauty, I have no idea what poor Findley or anyone else saw in her. In fact, I found myself sympathizing more with the villain, Malcolm Buchannan, more than her. Buchannan was such a wonderfully complex character! Maggy's five sons: Robert, Andrew, Collin, Ian and Liam were great and I loved their interaction with Findley and his men. Findley and his men were all as great as I remembered them from the first book in this series, and I look forward to reading more of them. I'm excited to read Wee William's story, coming Summer of 2013, and hope that the stories of Black Richard and Caelen McDunnah will follow.

4.0 out of 5 stars MacDougall Men win my heart.... May 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
While I Continue to enjoy The Clan MacDougal Series with each story line, I found Findley's "Lass", at times a pain in the neck lass. Ha! But yet again, the "hero", Findley in this case, showed that thou being of strong character as well as being a big man, they can also be gentle. They finally have a meeting of the minds, and not just their bodies (as glorious as those "meetings" were!) and realize they are meant for each other....
