Book Description

Only the strongest flowers thrive in the wilderness. Rosemary Jackson has traveled all the way to the frozen tundra of North Dakota territory to visit her twin sister, Rachel. It’s been three long years since Rachel left Kansas with her new husband for this wild place. But Rosemary arrives to find only a grave, a grieving brother-in-law, and an underfed baby. She has no choice but to stay and see her sister’s family through the long winter. Finn Tate has just buried his beloved wife, and he cannot seem to take care of himself or his infant daughter. He needs help. But he cannot stand the sight of Rosemary, who reminds him so much of Rachel, standing at his cook stove. When Rosemary settles into a neighboring homestead, Finn realizes she is far more strong-willed than he ever anticipated. But after a series of mishaps on Rosemary’s property threaten her livelihood, it becomes clear that Finn is not the only one who wants her to go back to Kansas. When the wildflowers arrive with the spring, will Rosemary be forced to leave everything she’s come to love in Wildrose, North Dakota?

3.0 out of 5 stars Great lead up July 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed the story. The leading characters were easy to like, though I did sometimes find it hard to believe that a young lady in that day and age would have been allowed to speak her mind so forcefully to so many men without any repercussions at all. Still, that didn't detract from the story.

The one complaint I have came at the end - it seemed rushed, everything led up to the final conflict and then... it was just done. It was both confusing and anti-climactic. I don't want to give anything away, just sayin'.

Overall it's a pretty well written book - I really cared about Rosemary, and felt all her pain.

On the other hand, the inevitable turn around in the romance left something to be desired - it was largely unexplained and hard to believe that it would have happened so effortlessly after such a great and long struggle against it.

I guess in reality I'm conflicted about this book. It's worth reading.

4.0 out of 5 stars a real page turner - couldn't put it down July 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This was an incredibly wonderful book. When I picked it up, I figured I would read a few chapters at a time, but once I read those first few chapters and was transported into the story I could not put it down. The characters were well developed and although there have been comments about Rosemary's outspokenness for the era, one has to remember that not all women were conforming to the genteel behaviors of the time (nor have they all conformed in any era.) My only complaint is that the end of the book seemed rushed at the end, compacting the ending in to what seemed a hurry to finish it - that kind of spoiled it for me. It would have been better to have lengthened the book or to have written a sequel!

4.0 out of 5 stars Love Finds You in Wildrose, ND July 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed this books and the interesting dilemma that was keeping them apart. I don't want to spoil things so I can't go into too much detail. I enjoy historical fiction a lot because you always learn something about that era or even setting that is new. I recommend this book even if you did have to pay for it, which I didn't. I ordered it free on my kindle and was very happy with it. I started reading is last night and finished today. The femlae lead, Rosemary, was feisty, which I love! The male lead was her match and the supporting characters added a nice flavor to the book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Story
I just finished this book. Good story but I felt that the ending was very rushed. Almost like the author ran out of pages to finish. Good Christian message. Strong heroine. Read more

It was a good book, ended a lot sooner then I thought it would though. It seemed to rush the ending rather than take it slow rapping up the story.
