5.0 out of 5 stars Candid, practical, and warm. A unique erotic approach.
The author's convincing premise is that romance and sexual pleasure depend on our imagination, and the imagination is fired by our verbal as well as our physical caresses. The unique thing about this book is the focus on how we use words to make love. For a small book, the coverage is remarkably comprehensive, yet it is informal, very candid, and warm, not cold and...

3.0 out of 5 stars good for all levels of experience
This book offers suggestions, "entry-level" phrases, and special exercises that seem like they would be especially helpful if you are interested in talking erotically to your partner, but are shy. Some phrases seemed silly to me, but everyone has differnt tastes. The real-life accounts of other people's experiences in different situations was interesting...

This review is from: The Fine Art Of Erotic Talk: How To Entice, Excite, And Enchant Your Lover With Words (Paperback)
The author's convincing premise is that romance and sexual pleasure depend on our imagination, and the imagination is fired by our verbal as well as our physical caresses. The unique thing about this book is the focus on how we use words to make love. For a small book, the coverage is remarkably comprehensive, yet it is informal, very candid, and warm, not cold and clinical. "The Fine Art of Erotic Talk" covers such diverse elements as vocal qualities, speaking rhythm, word selection, different contexts for using erotic language, and how language relates to different variations of sexual games. The result of this remarkable scope is a highly unique self-development program for erotic communication and improving sexual pleasure. This is one that will delight the budding romantic in just about anyone

This review is from: The Fine Art Of Erotic Talk: How To Entice, Excite, And Enchant Your Lover With Words (Paperback)
This book offers suggestions, "entry-level" phrases, and special exercises that seem like they would be especially helpful if you are interested in talking erotically to your partner, but are shy. Some phrases seemed silly to me, but everyone has differnt tastes. The real-life accounts of other people's experiences in different situations was interesting and helpful. This book also offers new ideas for situations to create and erotic things to say even before adjourning to the bedroom.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great for beginners., July 9, 1999

This review is from: The Fine Art Of Erotic Talk: How To Entice, Excite, And Enchant Your Lover With Words (Paperback)
This book gives a very good starting point for couples who are new at erotic talk. Those readers who have already tried this form of communication should probably pass on this selection. It's definitely a beginner's manual.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tell it like it is!, October 22, 2002
This review is from: The Fine Art Of Erotic Talk: How To Entice, Excite, And Enchant Your Lover With Words (Paperback)
I admire this author's willingness to explore the taboo subject of dirty talk, no matter how embarrassing and finicky it may seem to some people. I found myself nodding in agreement at society's timid approach to verbal stimulation during intimacy. The Fine Art of Erotic Talk is a great beginner's guidebook on how to express yourself verbally in bed. I was duly impressed with this book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Sometime Ridiculous, April 3, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Fine Art Of Erotic Talk: How To Entice, Excite, And Enchant Your Lover With Words (Paperback)
I was a little embarassed with the type of words that are suggested. Stuff about Mother Earth and similar "hippy" terms that to me are not erotic. There are a few suggestive phrases that have helped me open up and come up with my own ideas. But this is really a starter book and should be much less expensive then it is. Money-wise, I felt I was ripped off. I have looked at some of these word suggestions and laughed! There is no way I could say a few of these things without busting out laughing (the wrong way) during sex! An ok book, but not one I would recommend unless the price drops considerably. I also bought mine used, but clearly should've bought it cheaper!

5.0 out of 5 stars If you're a verbal type, this book's for you!, April 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Fine Art Of Erotic Talk: How To Entice, Excite, And Enchant Your Lover With Words (Paperback)
I think the author could probably get me off just by talking to me. What a wonderful thing that is!

Before I got to this book, I was initiated into the realm of auditory pleasure through phone sex with women I'd met in chat rooms. That went shockingly well for me. It taught me a lot about honesty.

I treasure this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Love This Book!, April 19, 2009
This review is from: The Fine Art Of Erotic Talk: How To Entice, Excite, And Enchant Your Lover With Words (Paperback)
I love this book! As a sex educator and former radio personality, I'm profoundly aware of the crucial role the voice and verbal communication can play in lovemaking. Bonnie Gabriel explores the subject in a warm, wise and thorough manner.

She covers all permutations of love talk - from the playful to the lusty, from the tender to the torrid. She guides the reader on how to use sensual communication in the early stages of flirting and dating, through romance and seduction to spicing up a long-term relationship.

It's a great book for beginners and for seasoned lovers who want to deepen erotic intimacy with a partner. I strongly recommend this book to all who wish to love more tenderly, passionately and eloquently.

This book is not very interesting and does not explain anything worth reading. It is a collection of short stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very difficult subject excellently presented, May 14, 2011

This review is from: The Fine Art Of Erotic Talk: How To Entice, Excite, And Enchant Your Lover With Words (Paperback)
I cannot recommend this fine book offering by Bonnie Gabriel too strongly! It details that side of the human being that makes a human being truly human-intimate relations.

This book is a presentation of exercises, done in a matter-of-fact style, with insight into one's own being. It's really a psychological treatise (very practical and easy to read and understand) of the type that is badly needed, particularly in our culture today. Kudos.
