It's a super accurate model requiring assembly and painting. The quality and detail are superb. An excellent model kit. The instructions are easy to read and understand, with outstanding pictures for reference for painting and weathering. The decals are a deffinate plus.

This kit is simply amazing and well worth it if you can get it for less than $50. The detail is as crisp and accurate as you can get on a 1/144 kit. For anyone who hasn't worked with a Fine Molds kit before (this was my first), they go a long way to ensuring there there are little to no seams that need filling or sanding and this one certainly does not disappoint. This Falcon is about 8" from nose to tail and makes for an impressive piece even at this scale. I must admit that building this really inspired me to drop the $200+ on the 1/72 kit, but that may have to wait until Christmas=)

Fine Molds - nough said. Great detail in this smaller kit. There are plenty of step-by-step You Tube videos. For its size, some can say it's too expensive but you get what you pay for in this case. Accurate dimensions and awesome detail. There are a few aftermarket addons for this 1/144 scale: better exhaust grills, landing gear details and masks. I'd buy again.

First off, a disclaimer: when I got this kit it was around $50. Now it's out of production and is ridiculously expensive (going for over $150 in most listings). This is a 1/144 scale kit, which is pretty darn small. For not a lot more (seen it around $200 on sale), you can get the 1/72 Revell 'master series' kit which is actually a rebranded re-run of the Fine Molds 1/72 Falcon kit. That is a MUCH better deal and can build into a very close replica of the actual production model... one day when I hit the jackpot, this is going to be the first thing I get. Alternatively, Bandai has a Force Awakens 1/144 Falcon kit which is much cheaper than this one since it's new. The dish is the Episode VII version, but you can buy a replacement off Shapeways.

That said, this is a very nice kit of what I still argue is the most famous ship in all of sci-fi. Yes, I appreciate Trek as well... but there's been so many USS Enterprises that the question 'do you like the Enterprise?' is usually answered with 'which one?' There is only one Millennium Falcon... accept no substitutes. Speaking of those substitutes, a lot of the previous and current models of this ship are pretty horrible in terms of movie accuracy. I won't go into a rant on this, but if you look at the old MPC kit for example, it is immediately obvious the sidewalls are way too tall in proportion to the hull. That is a common problem in general. This Fine Molds falcon, although not perfect, is darn close- enough so that especially at this small scale you probably won't be able to tell unless you really know what to look for (and have a magnifying glass).

The ship comes unpainted and molded in light gray, so be prepared to do some serious weathering and detailing to get it to look right.

This model has incredible detail, especially considering its scale. Like any other model if you pay close attention to the instructions and take your time the results will be a grand reward. I have read reviews regarding the decals. If your skill level is such that completing the model without difficulty is easy than it is also feasible that you can paint the details by mirroring them from the sheet. That said, I was elated at the end result.

I am very impressed by the scale and detail afforded this model kit. I wish the cockpit frame was separate from the windows, but I understand why the manufacturer chose to cast them as one clear piece, requiring expert masking techniques. Ironically, the kit is more detailed than the first kit I purchased as a kid, which was easily double the size!

I've just received my model. Is great. Despite its size, the detail on it is fantastic. Needs to be in you collection if you are a star wars fan.
