I like to listen to old 1940's radio shows. One of my favorites is Fibber McGee and Molly... presented by Johnson's Wax.
I've heard hundreds of the old ads pitching the product and finally decided I had to give it a try.
The problem was finding it. Then, while going through a closet at my mother's house I found a can that had to be sitting for close to 40 years. To my surprise when I opened it the wax seemed like new. I took it home to test it out on the dining room table.
WOW. What a shine! It is a lot of work compared to products like Pledge but the results are amazing and... unlike Pledge or other quick shines it LASTS.
And, unlike the quick and easy products it isn't a dust magnet.
If you don't mind doing the work, similar to paste waxing a car, you will not be disappointed.

I am a woodworker with a lot of stationary machines that have machined steel tops and if left uncleaned they will rust! This Wood paste is part of a 3 step process I use to clean all my machine surfaces.
First I take "PB Blaster" and spray on the tabletop and scrub the surface with a green scotch brite pad until all the rust is loose, then I take clean paper towels and wipe the PB blaster and rust away. Second take something like 409 and spray on tabletop to remove any oily residue from the table top and wipe again with paper towels. And lastly apply thin coat of JOHNSON PASTE WAX to tabletop and allow it to come to a haze, buff away with a soft cloth and repeat the Johnson Paste Wax 2 more times and your tabletop will be so bright and slick but more importantly it will be protected from rust and humidity. I love this stuff and a one can will last for a long time.

I had used this product for years, then I could not find it anywhere. After ordering I thought maybe it wasn't SC Johnson Paste Wax because it came up as fine wood paste wax & it was very reasonably priced. It was the real deal, and it like its finish has stood the test throughout time. No other product can replace it.

I keep finding new ways to use this product. I recently put new interior doors in my home. after staining the wood I didn't want a poly (Varathane) finish. Instead I applied the Johnson's wax with a cloth and then removed it with paper grocery bags. The paper bags act like a fine sandpaper and absorbs the excess wax. The final result was stunning. A fine furniture finish nicely sealed. I've noticed a resurgence of old products Like Johnsons Paste Wax coming back on the market. This is a great product that rates 5 stars.

I used this wax on a travel guitar as recommended by the manufacturer (Martin). The wood on the guitar has an open grain to it, and I was afraid the wax would get stuck in the grain making the entire guitar look terrible. But, that did not happen. It softens quickly, went on very easily and buffed up to a nice satin sheen.

I would have given it 5 stars, but I have no idea how long it's going to hold up or what's going to happen when the guitar gets rained on. That said, the wax gets excellent reviews on other web sites so I feel pretty confident.

for some reason this product is hard to find in many stores , but it is one of the best wood finishing products I`ve ever used !

I use Johnson's Paste Wax to rub down the surfaces on my band saw, jointer and table saw when i'm done cleaning them. Works great and keeps the surfaces smooth for next use. Recommended to me by a master woodworker.

We had hardwood floors in our home when I was a child, and every home I've owned since have had them. I love older homes so sometimes the floors have been covered and get dry from the carpet sucking out the moisture. I've tried several other products and always come back to Johnson's. A few coats of that wonderfully oily Johnson's wax and they come back like new. And the smell? Guess it depends on what is offensive to you. For me, it brings back wonderful memories of my Mom and me on Saturday mornings telling stories and laughing while we waxed the floors.

A hard item to find at most stores but Amazon has just about everything. An excellent past wax miracle for wood working.
