When MTV decided to showcase artists sans electric guitars, keyboards, and other musical accouterments in MTV Unplugged, little did anyone expect such overwhelming popularity. Finest Moments brings together eight incredible musical performances. The DVD begins with 10,000 Maniacs performing a jubilant "These Are Days," then moves into the Church singing a touchingly melancholic version of "Under the Milky Way." Sinead O'Connor, alone with her guitar, sings "Black Boys on Mopeds" in an achingly pure, sad voice. With just guitars, piano, and drums, the stark lyrics of Soul Asylum's "Black Gold" really hits home. The Cure and Live perform affecting versions of "Just Like Heaven" and "Lightening Crashes," respectively, Duran Duran performs a '90s version of their early '80s hit "Girls on Film," and Oasis concludes with "Listen Up." Included on the DVD are profiles of all the artists, producers' notes with little-known details about the shows, and interviews with four of the bands, and an option for Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. --Dana Van Nest

I have always enjoyed acoustic music, so when MTV started the Unplugged show I could not get enough. All of the songs on this DVD are excellent, especially Sinead's Black Boys On Mopeds, it is just her singing and playing the guitar. I happen to be a huge Oasis fan, and the song on this DVD "Listen Up" was not actually aired during the Oasis Unplugged show, so this was welcome to see as well. I own all of this series of MTV unplugged DVD's, they are all great stuff.

The reason I gave this 4 stars instead of five is that my only problem with this series and the "MTV Unplugged voulume one" CD that was released a few years ago is the fact that there are repeated songs on each of them. I want to see and hear more! Eric Clapton got his show released on CD & DVD, so why include those on this series of DVD's?? Why not put all 4 of Stevie Ray Vaughn's songs out? Why not include more Lenny Kravitz, and where are Peal Jam or the Stone Temple Pilots? I know, it takes agreements and the like to publish music, but I wish that there was some way to get all my favorites out on both CD & DVD, like Alice In Chains did.
Overall well worth the money and the extras are quite good as well!

I have been searching for quality live performance dvd's for a while and so I went for this one after purchasing Alice in Chains Unplugged, which is fantastic! But this dvd is super short for the price. If you want to be able to turn on the dvd player and listen for a long period of time, this is not your dvd. I should have spent some more time looking for other versions. It is quality music, just had to live up to a great performance which was not delivered. My suggestion, choose another Unplugged performance or compilation.

i have to say that this DVD is the ultimate music dvd it contains a really cool stuff (full of surprises) belive me if you see this DVD ... you will feel that it`s the first dvd in your life ...
