And they don't fit in tiny mouths!,

Our one-yr-old Picasso wanted desperately to color with his bigger cousins' crayons. Problem was, after making a few vibrant swipes, Picasso would plunk a crayon into his mouth and bite off its point. His bigger cousins were not pleased. Enter FINGER CRAYONS! Even though these say age 2+up, they are exactly what Picasso (and his cousins) needed. Harder than regular crayons, easy for wee hands to palm, and big enough that they don't fit so well in Picasso's little pie-hole.

My 4 year old has gone through what seems like a million crayons. He breaks them, steps on them, throws them, sharpens them... Not always on purpose, but they always seem to get broken and Mommy's out buying more. The price on washable, non toxic crayons does get heafty when your always buying them. Then I remembered Finger Crayons, my parents bought them for me and my 2 siblings, and they lasted for a long time. So, I ordered them and they have been a huge hit in the house. Even my 1 year old loves them, although they can still fit in his mouth when Mommy's back is turned. They are very chunky, which makes them more difficult to break, and inspire creativity from drawing with your finger tips as well as with your hands like a normal crayon.
5 stars from my family, and also from my sister's family, because I bought her daughter some and she loves them too!!!

My son has had a great time with these crayons. I love how sturdy they are, compared to regular crayons which my son easily breaks. And my son loves putting them on his fingers, as well as stacking them into "towers" when he's coloring. They are a lot of fun!

I was very excited to buy this product as my two boys (21 months) have eaten every crayon they have ever gotten their hands on. When these crayons arrived I thought they looked really sturdy and could see why they may be too big for little mouths. I was wrong, although the base of the crayon is quite thick the top part is not and it took them all of 2 minutes for them to bite the tops off.

These have helped my son develop more of a consistent tripod grip (the way adults hold a pen) instead of holding the crayon in his fist. The colors are fun, too.

These crayons are the type that you always want to press harder because they don't make bold marks. On the other hand, I've never had a problem with crayon marks getting somewhere I don't want them to be, but that is more likely because my daughter doesn't use them much. They break when dropped.
As a preschool teacher, I do love the shape of these crayons. They promote a good grasp and strengthen little hands. I would encourage parents to look for another brand that has this shape.

Purchased for my 1yr's bday. He LOVES these crayons...ok, so there may not be A LOT of doodling going on at this age :) However, the shape is great for his little hands and he loves to stack one onto another (a bonus for motor skills). I show him how to doodle with them and he gets all excited and does a little scribbling. Think they are great to get the concept of creative play & coloring going without a big name label. If they are used alot, and there's not much left, melt them down and make one big multi colored crayon! Great cost, great buy.

Got theese for my 18 month old twins. They seemed ok at first, the color came off easily onto paper. They enjoyed stacking them. But, one little bite on the tip caused each crayon to crumble, and then they weren't fun anymore. I wish the pointed tip was a little thicker and stronger for curious biters! These eventually ended up in my 4 yr old's crayon collection. These are a good idea for kids who are over the mouthing stage.

I got these for my 19 month old son and turns out he loves to stack them more than he likes to color with them (well, at his age it's scribbling!). He can sit and stack and unstack and restack and rearrange and stack and unstack and restack these crayons for a good 20-30 minutes! They're perfect for use in his high chair while we make and/or eat dinner. They are the perfect size for his little hands. He did bite the tip off one when we weren't paying attention, but so far it's only been that one so I figure we're doing pretty good
Edited a few months later to add that we now have two broken crayons--surprisingly they survived a few drops off the high chair [onto a wood floor] during use, but then I dropped the bag once (I keep them in a ziploc) and one broke into about three pieces! When the tip breaks off, they can still use them...but it just feels like when a middle piece of the round part breaks (think a piece of the pie), they become more fragile and easier for little hands to break, so I ended up taking that crayon away for now. That said, I still like these enough that I am buying the bigger set.

I work at a daycare tending and teaching two year old children. The children in my group are so sick of crayons and they refuse to color so I bought these crayons hoping to inspire the kids to color the many projects we use to try to teach the children. I'm happy to say these crayons did the trick and the kids love to use them and they are showing interest in the regular crayons again. The only problem is that there is a child in my group that likes to eat crayons and he broke a few so I have to keep a very close eye on him. The crayons are great for there little hands and they love them.
