Great Music for Developing Guitarists, November 7, 2007
This book contains a selection of 12 of Bach's favorite works arranged for fingerstyle guitarists. The music is written in both standard musical notation and tablature, with suggested fingerings. Each piece includes a brief description providing information about the piece and its musical context as well as some suggestions for fingerings. A few of the pieces are easy enough for study by beginners while others may provide a challenge for intermediate learners. The arrangements are quite well written, and would make excellent performance pieces as well. The contents are:
--Musette from the Notenbuch vor Anna Magdalena Bach
--Theme from the Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 in F Major, first movement
--Minuet from the Notenbuch vor Anna Magdalena Bach
--March from the Notenbuch vor Anna Magdalena Bach
--Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring from Cantata No. 147
--Gavotte I and II, from the sixth Cello Suite
--Sleepers Awake! From Cantata No. 140
--O Sacred Head Now Wounded from the Passion according to Saint Matthew
--Gavotte I and II from the Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D Major
--Bourree from the first Lute Suite
--Gavotte from the third Lute Suite
--Badinerie from the Orchestral Suite No. 2 in B Minor

Buyer Beware-Not as it appears!, May 27, 2010
This review is from: Fingerpicking Bach (Paperback)
I was so excited to finally find Bach's "O Sacred Head Now Wounded" written for fingerstyle guitar that I did not pay close attention to the "Just So You Know"... note on the "Look Inside" page. The table of contents that you are seeing is from an earlier edition and not from the actual book that you will receive. For one, "O Sacred Head Now Wounded" is not in the book that I received. Since that was the only reason I was purchasing the book, of course I am disappointed, but I can't say I wasn't warned. I have not taken the time to compare and see what other songs may be missing or replaced. Just thought I would give others a warning so the same thing doesn't happen to them.

Fingerpicking Bach Review, December 5, 2004
An Excellent fingerpicking transcription of some Bach arrangements. The only problem with this book is the liminted number of songs and the number of pages (under 50)!!! Other than that, this is an excellent book. Enjoy!
