Like all of Stefan Grossman's instructive DVDs, this also is of the highest quality. He moves slowly and carefully, anticipates where students will stumble, and encourages wonderfully. Please read my other reviews for more detail: needless to say, if you are beyond the basic beginning of guitar (basic chords), you will love the teaching of Stefan Grossman! He is as gifted as an instructor as he is as a guitarist!

5.0 out of 5 stars Building a better guitar lesson..., February 23, 2010
This review is from: Fingerpicking Country Blues Guitar A Repertoire Lesson (DVD)
I am just about to bring my time with this dvd to a close...for now. But I will keep it for a reference as this is a beautiful dvd - well thought out, each song builds on the next and inspires confidence in your ability to begin to master this wonderful style of american music. I do not believe anyone does country blues more justice than Stefan Grossman. He is approachable, educated about his chosen subject matter, passionate about teaching you and willing to share of himself. I cannot think of a better recommendation for a teacher. This is billed as a repertoire lesson and it is that...but it is also a treasure of techniques that can be put to use in building your own blues. The other review covers much of this territory, but from a student's perspective, this man inspires me to continue to learn.
