Once the hidden files are deleted properly, the SwiMP3.2G returns to normal functionality. To properly delete files on a MAC operating system, not only does the user need to trash the files but also empty the trash bin.

Thanks to Bone Conduction audio transmission, the SwiMP3 offers clear sound while fully submerged in the water--without uncomfortable earbuds that may fall out. Designed not to interfere with your swimming technique, the SwiMP3 attaches securely to the your goggle straps with Hydrodynamic Clips and rests on your cheek bone. With 2GB of storage, the SwiMP3 can hold up to 500 songs for a varied playlist. The player is MP3 and WMA compatible and is also iTunes convertible. The device attaches to your computer via USB and contains a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that offers over eight hours of use per charge.

With Bone Conduction Audio Transmission, sound is clearest when submerged under water.

About Bone Conduction Audio Transmission:
Ideal for swimmers and submerged use, bone conduction audio transmission bypasses the ear canal by vibrating through the bones, sending sound directly into the inner ear. This alternative conduction allows for the transmission of clear sound in the absence of air. The SwiMP3 uses this system to surround you with high-fidelity music as soon as you submerge your head under water.

2.0 out of 5 stars really dissappointed!!! November 11, 2011
ordered this from trinowfitness. It came very quickly and I was very excited to use it. It took a few days to figure out how to load it. once done I headed to the pool. When i started swimming I thought it was great= really cool to have music and the sound was great. After the third song the unit stopped. So...I went home and reloaded thinking i did it wrong. For a week i tried contacting finis. Not easy to get an answer= they require a suport ticket and can take two days to get back to you. Finally , I called and got through after 4 attemps. I was told that this is a new product and they have been having problems with it. It was determined by technical support that the item is defective and I should send it back. However, they will not pay the shipping- its not their policy. Also...it may take up to 2 weeks to get a new one. Really??? you would think if its their faulty design they would try and compensate you for the inconvenience.
So..if it was working sound is good and item is great. But...considering the time and effort only to find out that I will be penalized for buying the new updated model= not happy!!!Big drag!!! buy the older model and dont have the hastle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product February 5, 2012
By Jed
This is a review of the actual product (the 2 GB Finis Swimp3.2G), and not a review of the company that shipped the product.

I swim about 45 mins 5 days a week and use several different strokes and sometimes use a kick board (head isn't underwater).

Pros:
Very very easy to load music. You plug it in and drag the music into the removable disk. Not sure why someone would have problems with this step, but the average computer user will find this basic and not an issue. Make folders for playlists (mine are music and podcasts). I use MixMeister BPM Analyzer to calculate the Beats per minute and have playlists in iTunes with different BPM to keep my pace.

Switching between playlists is easy once you get used to the buttons. It's hard because you have to remember which is next and which is previous (based on your fingers because you can't see them when you are in the water)and then the combination to make you skip to the next playlist and then put it on shuffle. But once you get used to it, it's really easy.

The device itself is quite revolutionary. I was very skeptical about the "bone conduction." Out of the water the sound is shallow or thin. But once you are in the water, and I don't mean submersed, I mean swimming laps like normal people swim (head in and out constantly) the sound quality is remarkable. There is depth and the tone is very clear. Without earplugs, I'm sure it would be difficult to have these work correctly, so get some. I have listened to both audiobooks, podcasts, and music. I can hear very clearly every word and at only about half volume.

Battery life is excellent, but I may not be the best judge on this. I turn mine off using the reset button. I also charge mine once a week. It could possibly last 2 weeks, but I haven't pushed it.

I haven't had any issues with it affecting my seal on my goggles, like one reviewer said.

The product stays very firmly in place but it doesn't press on your face. I thought it would based on the position but it is extremely comfortable.

Cons:
Needs to come with a case. New models are missing this.
Needs a dedicated shuffle button on the opposite ear piece.
Needs to be clearer in the instructions that the "power off" button isn't really powering the device off. You need to push in and hold the reset button to make it turn totally off.

1.0 out of 5 stars Also disappointed... November 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase
I got through to Finis much quicker than the earlier reviewer but with much the same results. They must be having a lot of problems with this model because the tech was very quick to respond that it was defective and needed to be replaced. I also had to pay to ship it back. Very poor customer service model.
