I really like the regular Finish dishwasher tabs, but tried these for a change. They are horrible. The gross scent soaked in to any plastic/rubber. I can't use the lids to my glass Pyrex containers any more. Spatulas, sippy cups...all smell and taste bad now. BOO.

I read many reviews about how these caused other reviewers plastic items to have a bad odor. We have a lot of plastic dishes that the kids use on a daily basis. I have used the entire box now and have not run into any odors.
These are easy to use...simply drop in and run your dishwasher.
Because the material starts to dissolve with water, be sure to dry your hands. A couple of times I reached in with slightly wet hands. The next time I went to get a gelpack, I found two or three of them attached (like they were melted) to each other. It wasn't enough water to release (or spill) the cleaning fluid, but made it more difficult to take those connected items apart without tearing the material.
That issue will not stop me from buying these in the future. Just be sure to dry off your hands before handling.

We've now tried all of the various forms of Finish (Gel Pacs, Powerball Tablets, Quantum Tablets).
These Gel Pacs are the only one that I'd not recommend. They are a little pillow of detergent inside of a bio-degradable 'skin' that dissolves during the wash process. While that sounded like a good idea from an environmental standpoint, the fact that all these pacs are together in one bag is a problem.
PRO: Less Packaging Waste (no individual foil or plastic wrap to throw out)
CON: Stick Together. The dissolving skin of the pacs will stick together with even the slightest moisture. While they can sometimes be carefully pulled apart, most of they are joined strongly enough that one will tear open the other. (And they don't need to get WET for this to happen, just the slightly higher humidity of the undersink cabinet is enough to ruin them.)
If you store in a totally dry location, such as a pantry or upper cupboard, they'll likely survive and work fine. But if you want to keep them under the sink, use the Powerball or Quantum tablets instead.

Easy to Use, No Residue
Having used these in a very new dishwasher, I can report that they are easy to use, and leave no residue (either in the little detergent bay in the dishwasher, or on the dishes).

I prefer the solid Finish tabs
I did not find the gel effective in my dishwasher. The dishes did not get sparkling clean as the always have wit Finish solid tabs. I will not purchase again.

leaves enough residue (soapy film) on dishes
Either it needs really real HOT water (like few others have mentioned), or it just is not the right product. Stick with the FINISH tabs and be happy.
