Definitely needed to clean your chain. After a while the bristles start to be a little mangy but I heard they can be replaced so I'll have to look into that. Otherwise GREAT product.

This little brush works just fine, I haven't used the cleaning solution that it came with yet but with simple green sprayed on it and some aggressive scrubbing my chain looks like new.
