I'm a huge fan of the 3-in-1 tablets. I've used the Electrosol and the Finish-branded ones, both the gelpak and the dry capsules. I've used them in newer Bosch and Kitchenaid Dishwashers to great, great success. In fact, the Bosch pretty much never could do glassware without spots until we started using the all-in-one tablets.

5.0 out of 5 stars the diamond standard, April 19, 2009

Although Electrasol has been around since the '60s or '70s, Quantum is totally brand-new. I never thought Electrasol could get any better until I used this for the first time a few weeks ago. It does everything for me, prewashes, cleans, rinses and even dries. Everything comes out of my dishwasher sparkling. Unlike some types of dishwashing tablets, Quantum is very consistent. You will get high-quality, perfect results no matter how you load your dishwasher and no matter what you're cleaning. I also use Turbo Dry which is the perfect compliment because it gets all of my dishes (and especially my flatware) extra shiny and extra, extra bone-dry; there's nothing I hate more than taking out wet/damp dishes out of the dishwasher. I use this a minimum of once a day. I also like Quantum tablets because they do not have to be unwrapped (like the powerballs) and they rarely stick together (like the jell ones). They are also nice to look at so I keep them out all the time in a matching canister.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hardwater Deposit get blasted, January 5, 2010
This review is from: Finish Powerball w/jet dry-Case of 150 Capsules (Kitchen)
I live in area where the water is as hard as rocks. All appliances become coated with Hardwater deposits. You literally have to take the appliance apart and scrape off the deposits. I have been looking for anything to help for the mineral deposits.
I tried Quantum Power Ball and the inside of my dishwasher looks great. The mineral deposits around the heating element have been cleaned away. I had deposits on my racks and you could hear the motor, it sounded like rocks were in it, all has been clean up. This is my new dishwasher detergent. At least I won't have to buy a new appliance every 3 years. Thank you for this new detergent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best dishwater detergent ever!, January 4, 2011

This review is from: Finish Powerball w/jet dry-Case of 150 Capsules (Kitchen)
I've been mostly a Cascade customer over the past 30 years that I've had a dishwasher, though I fairly often tried other products when they were on sale. Finish brand, I felt, ran a close second to Cascade, but I would often buy it if that's what was on sale. Over the past couple years, our well water has become more mineralized, and my glassware & flatwear were looking bad. I tried the different rinse products and dishwasher cleaners, and they all helped, but not completely, and they were so expensive to use, because 2 days later, the mineral deposits were almost as bad as before I used them.

I did a google search and learned vinegar or lemon juice would work, so I tried putting 1 cup of lemon juice in the dishwasher with all my glassware & flatwear. They came out spotless! Two days later, the film started to re-appear, though not as bad, and at least the lemon juice was much less expensive than the commercial rinse products. At the time, I was using Cascade Complete Gel Packets. But then Finish Quantum 25 pak was on sale, so I got some. I tried it and Wallah! My glassware was spotless again! After a few days, I decided to use up the few remaining Cascade gel paks I had left. Sure enough, the hard water film came back. Back to Finish Quantum and clear, shiney glassware again. I have now used over 60 Quantum Capsules and never once had any remnants of the packaging leftover in the dishwasher as one reviewer spoke of. I think he may have loaded his dishwasher in a way that the dispenser was blocked, as I know that happened in my dishwasher when I first got it, but that was years ago, before trying Quantum. Since trying the Quantum, I haven't had to use the lemon juice at all.

No more switching brands for me. I'm ordering a box of 150 of Finish Quantum from an Amazon store (with free shipping)at a great price! That's about a 5-6 month supply in my house.

This particular tablet, the "Quantum Powerball" comes with each tablet encased in an outer plastic-like wrapping that melts when it gets wet, which allows the tablet to disperse into the dishwasher during the different cycles.

Being very familiar and having used the all-in-one tablets many a time, I purchased two packs of the Quantum and went to using them. For a while it was fine. And then every now and again we'd have a load that wasn't clean it all. So we'd just wash the load all over again.

Then after this had happened a third time, I investigated the dishwasher to see if there was a problem, and lo-and-behold, found the Powerball at the bottom of the dishwasher, still intact. What we found is that, by the luck of the draw of how it falls out when the automatic detergent door opens, will indicate whether we get a clean load or not. Basically if the tablet falls "thin side" up, then the plastic-like outer wrapping will dissolve and we'll get a clean load. Any other way and the plastic-like outer wrapping is too thick and stays intact, leaving the tablet intact.

I'm not going to bother to return my second unopened pack, I'm just going to throw them all away and go back to the gelpaks, which I prefer. Unfortunately, it looks like they are only available on Amazon via two vendors that tend to ship stuff in a really banged-up state, so I'll have to buy this at the store--which is not too hard to do, as they stock versions of the gelpaks at Costco, Safeway, and Walgreens.

We have a new home and a new dishwasher of course. I have been using cascade but became very unhappy with it, even using the rinse dry with it. I had a coupon for this Finish, tried it, now I wouldn't be without it!! I have told many people about this and they too are looking into it.

LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars This Product Is Amazing!, December 14, 2010
This review is from: Finish Powerball w/jet dry-Case of 150 Capsules (Kitchen)
I had been using Cascade Complete for the longest time up until about three months ago. My dishes were coming out of the dishwasher with gritty residue on them. I learned that Cascade Complete had changed their formula and took the phosphates out of their detergent in order to be more environmentally friendly. Well, I looked around for a new detergent but there aren't many choices. I tried Quantum Finish, and I have to say that these little detergent packs work! My dishes come out sparkling clean and crystal-clear! No more residue! Quantum Finish has phosphates which greatly improves the cleaning power of any detergent. I would highly recommend this dishwasher detergent to anybody.

PROS: Gets dishes totaly clean and crystal-clear, simple to use, stores often sell the large packs as "Buy One, Get One Free", detergent has phosphates which really clean your dishes.

CONS: I had to be careful not to load large plates or bowls in front of the automatic detergent dispenser because doing so would cause the Quantum Finish pack to fall into the corner of the dishwahser tub where it wouldn't dissolve properly. Every dishwasher detergent dispenser is different, so you might have to experiment a bit in order to make sure the Quantum Finish pack has an unobstructed drop into the tub's hot water.

This is one prduct that does get the dishes clean. Our previous detergent was only good as a final rinse after manually washing.

This is the best dishwashing detergent I have ever used. Cascade didn't do it in any of its incarnations. I thought we needed a new dishwasher until we tried these. They are easy to work with and have never failed to clean everything we have thrown at it.
