Great book! I'm a mechanical engineer who was in dire need of writing some heat transfer FE code for work and this book was just what I needed. Geared toward those interested in writing your own code, there's enough theory and mathematics to allow you to extend the code examples yourself. The book starts with easy to grasp 1D calculations and then extends the methods to 2D and 3D situations. Not a book fo those needing a primer for using a commercial program.

Dr. Darrell Pepper is a wonderful professor. I was in his MEG 700 class at UNLV and He is the best professor I have had so far during my graduate school career. This book is also wonderful in expalining difficult concepts clearly and charting difficult flow diagrams.
