Book Description

Ten years ago, Mona, Rene and Dawn were the closest and most popular friends at Finley High School. Everyone knew they would be kindred spirits forever, but after graduation the real world lured them in three different directions, and the trio has little contact until their high school reunion. The girls, now women, are instantly inseparable again, but broken promises linger like ghosts from the past. An attempt to recapture the hope and innocence of their youth leads the ladies down a road of discovery that is sometimes hilarious, sometimes sensual, other times dark and painful. And what they thought was their simplest vow, to live love to the fullest, is no easy task for the Finley sisters.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Finley Sisters' Oath of Romance August 30, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Just when you think you've got Keith Thomas Walker figured out, he comes out with yet another great story with a totally different slant. The Finley Sisters' Oath was a quick but totally engrossing read. - This book is just another example of Mr. Walker's ability to tell a believable story from a female perspective and do it in a way that brings palpable drama, comedy and hope and happiness. I really enjoyed Mona, Rene and Dawn's adventures. Can't wait to see what Keith Thomas Walker comes out with next!

4.0 out of 5 stars Rekindling Friendship and Romance August 21, 2011
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Mona, Rene and Dawn ruled Finley High School. They were funny, outspoken and very pretty. The girls were inseparable and they vowed to stay friends forever. The three also made an oath to find true romance. But after graduation, they went their separate ways. Keith Thomas Walker tells what happened to the Finley Sisters' Oath of Romance.

Mona built a successful real estate company from the ground up and she let everyone, including her boyfriends, know who was in charge. Dawn, a college drop-out, was a single mom of two boys struggling to make ends meet. Rene was a successful marketing executive with a boyfriend that everyone wanted. When Mona received the invitation from their high school for their 10 year class reunion, she knew she had to get them together again. Realizing how much they missed each other, the three decided to take a cruise to reunite. While on the cruise, the three discovered a lot about themselves and learned how to rekindle their oath to find true romance.

Walker's story was funny, playful, sexy and painful. The three girls were forced to face the reasons why they had not found true love and then develop a plan to find romance. Walker's story was engaging and it encouraged readers to turn the page to see what would happen next. There were some portions of the story that were slow but the comedy made up for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Never fails. August 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed this story. It was heartbreaking, heartwarming, funny and romantic. After losing touch with each other after high school graduation the three Finley Sisters reconnect while at their ten year reunion. Picking up right where they left off, they vow to keep the promise they didn't keep after H.S. As the sisters reacquaint themselves with each other they all start to see the lives they've been leading aren't as good in some ways as they've been leading on. Each woman comes to terms with the issues they've been dealing with with the help and support of the others. Rene has trouble letting anyone close enough to hurt her heart the way her ex did, therefore she settles for a man and a relationship that might not be worth her time. Good heavens.....Mona, Mona, Mona, she is something else. She could compete with the most active womanizer and come out victorious. She confronts her heartless ways after one of her many thoughtless conquests goes horribly wrong. Last but not least is Dawn, the least successful of the three and the most broken. Feeling lost and alone after graduation Dawn makes a series of wrong decisions after another, most of all her ongoing two year relationship with her abusive boyfriend. Her life is in shambles romantically, it's nonexistent financially, and her self esteem along with her thinner waistline is all but gone. Watching these three woman jump back into each others lives and assist even if just emotionally in getting their lives back on track is an awesome thing. Mr. Walker gives us another story filled with ups and downs, highs and lows and the ride is worth both the time and money. I loved the way this story ended, it gave me just enough to fill in my own blanks and imagine their HEA-afters.

4.0 out of 5 stars great story March 31, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I picked this book up at the dollar store, and I'm so glad it was there. This was a great book, I had a hard time putting it down. This book tells a story about three women who were very close in high school, and drifted apart as life moved forward. They reunite at the high school ten year reunion. The story is very touching and a must read.
