in a 10gal tank this little thing was pumping!!! I had to turn the dial to half to not cause it to push everything around. Amazing little filter for the price. You could also add biomax noodles to increase filtration as well as any foam pads. I love it.

I am using these on two Fluval EBI tanks (along with zoo-med 501 canisters). They work well, but because of their small size they need maintenance weekly. I am using the Fluval edge pre-filters zip tied on the intake of these filters to keep them from sucking up baby crystal shrimp.

I am happy with the filters, not happy with the cost of the replacement filter media. I am cutting carbon coated filter floss pad to fit inside them instead of spending over $15 with shipping for 10 filter inserts.

I would have given it 5 stars but if not for the price of the filter refills. They are very over priced. Tetra makes a filter that sort of fits so that is what I have been doing. It is also very noisy. More so than my 55/70. I'm used to the sound since I have five tanks in the same room, but this is a loud one. Although it is the perfect size for my 3 gallon Mr. Aqua tank. It also works very well.

Amazing quality for the price. This filter came with my original 4gal pico tank. I didn't even take the filter out the box for 3 weeks because I've never had a small pump device that I thought was worth a flip. Well now I'm eating crow because this filter runs like a dream - sturdy, efficient and wonderfully quiet. I recommend to anyone with a small aquarium setup.

This filter came with my 4 gal tank. It clears the water quite fast, with all new materials, and works very well on a 4 gallon tank. It has a flow control which is great. I had to turn it down at first. However, the disposable filter area is so small (with not much carbon) that within a few days of cleaning, the flow is already slowing down. I have 5 tiny fish in my betta tank - 2 baby otos, two white clouds under 1 inch, and a betta. I have lots of plants and clean the gravel every 2 weeks which includes a 50% water change. Still, it slows down within days of cleaning, with the flow fully open.

You cannot find replacement filters in the store, so you have to make do with other products, the smallest of which are too much. The only place to add bacterial filtration is behind the carbon cartridge, so it gets clogged first. It would have been better to have that space after the carbon, so that the easily replaceable cartridge would accumulate the muck. There may be a way to work it so that it flows faster, but I will get a larger filter.

If you are going to use this for a single fish in a small bare tank with low light and few live plants, it will probably be great. But if you intend to maximize your use of the tank by adding a few more tiny fish, and several+ plants, find something better.

I have a 2.5 gallon desk top tank and fits perfectly. It provides enough water flow and was a good value compared to other options if you need a filter for a small tank (less than 5 gallons).
