What a lovely set of songs. Bob Andrews is witty, touching, and clever, by turns -- and always original, always genuine and articulate. His crisp guitar work is covered up by a bit too much production, IMHO. but that's not a fatal flaw. I prefer listening to him live, but this CD is a close second to the real thing. I've listened several times through, and will do some more!

There is a little bit of everything on this CD. It's GREAT! You must hear it to appreciate it. I can't wait for his next CD. I have been listening to his since I was a child and always knew someday he would be a star.

Certain songs on this album well you up inside; whether it be Bob's poignant lyric, or the charming melodies, or just the way he sings! Being his first album he has a mixture of style that ranges from folk, pop, and gospel-therefore his second cd could really take any direction and be successful. The title track reminds me of old Gordon Lightfoot! References to the sea thread the album nicely and the simplicity and charm of 'Finn's Pt light' make it a wonderful debut!

This is more than good music. What we have here is a truly rare musical presence: Bob Andrews' warmth, compassion, and depth, both emotional and spiritual, shine through his voice and his lyrics. We are touched and reassured by his humanity and sensitivity, as some of the frozen spots in our hearts start to melt and open up. Though only one of the songs is overtly spiritual--the amazing "Holy Ground"--this is very real, very inspiring stuff, coming from a place of deep connection. Have it on your shelf for those cold winter nights of the body and soul.

Usually, you get a cd that has great lyrics OR great music. Usually, you get a cd that is terrific to listen to actively OR terrific as background music. It's rare that you come across a CD that's got it all.

Bob Andrew's "Finns Point Light" has it all.

Beautiful image-soaked lyrics such as, "The bed sagged in the middle from years of sleeping closely . . . Like two spoons in a kitchen drawer. . . " are woven on top of gorgeous music throoughout this CD. And just when your heart is too full of these stories of love and remorse and friendship and regret, Andrews throws in something to make you chuckle - enter Broke Again.

This is a CD that will stay in your player.

I was never a listener of folk music until I heard Bob sing .Now I enjoy the music very much. I love to hear about the stories behind the music. I also realize how much time and hard work goes into the making of a CD. We can all relate to "Broke Again" and the song "Lovers in Love" touched me so much that I listened to the track until I thought I had worn it out. I can't wait for the next CD to come out.
