On the plus side, these Fintie cases are really accurately made, with camera holes, plugs, and the shape of the well into which my Pro 8.4 fits matching up extremely well. Somebody at Fintie engineering obviously puts a lot of time and effort making all of their cases precisely customized for whatever given device. The manufacturing quality is very high as well, and for the given design, they're about as good as one could ask.

The built-in magnets are well hidden and sufficiently strong to provide both closure, and to hold the folded pieces in place when used as a stand. Again, very well thought out, very effective.

All that being said however, these are still not my favorite cases for tablets. I have always found it way too easy to inadvertently touch, and thereby activate something on the screen when holding a tablet with one hand with this kind of case. By virtue of its lack of overlaying material (leather, whatever) around the top edge of the screen, I constantly struggle to figure out how to hold this thing.

IF the above doesn't bother you, then this case is a very good choice, perhaps the best in this category. And it's certainly a very good value.

What an amazing product!! If you're like me and have spent HOURS on Amazon searching for a great case and reading through countless reviews, look no further! The smart shell case is everything I could have ever wanted for my 8 inch Galaxy Tab 3.

The case is slim, yet super protective. It fits my tablet like a glove, and gives me access to all the ports along the edges of the device, including the IR port which was difficult to come by while researching through other cases.

I am beyond happy that I purchased this product.

Great case for my galaxy 3 8.0. Very light so it doesn't add much weight. Nice faux leather. It has a magnetic closure that I like. The openings line up nicely. Perfect for what I was looking for. The price was right too. The seller is excellent, was delivered very quickly. I would recommend. It also comes in many very nice colors.

This product is like the one sold by Samsung but way cheaper. For the price point, it is a good buy. I went to Best Buy to check out the one sold by Samsung and compared it with the Fintie. The differences are minute and ultimately, they do the same job of protecting the tablet. The tablet fits pretty good in the Fintie. A little tight, but good. It will not move around in the case. All of your buttons, micro sd cover, speakers, and earphone jack are easily accessible due to the cut outs on the case. All of the corners are rounded and protected by the plastic back of the case so that your tablet corners will not get scratched or dinged. The back of the case is stiffer and stronger than the front. The front does all of the folding so a trade off here. Since this case is very slim, even with the tablet in it, it does not protect the tablet like the Belkin cover. The Belkin cover is much thicker and again, another trade off here for the slim factor. The fit is good but the finish needs to be a little bit better. I would have given it a 5 star if it wasn't for the fit and finish. Anyway, it's just cosmetic, but I'm anal about these things and I do want my money's worth whether it's a dollar or a thousand dollars. Your miles may vary!! Overall, I will buy another if the price and shipping is still right and will recommend this product for the Tab Pro. I don't know how long this product is going to last but I'm definitely going to find out since I use my tablet everyday for work and play.

A little caveat - some of the cases sold on Amazon, Ebay, or other vendors cost more but pretty much the same make as the Fintie. I basically researched most of them and the specs are the same except for the badging, the seller, and the manufacturer. I wouldn't be surprised if they all came out of the same company from China. Also, I chose this particular model because it did not have the metal plate/clasp on the middle edge of the front cover that bends into the inside of the front cover. This plates seems to be more decorative than utilitarian in nature. I read somewhere in the other reviews that the metal plate will scratch the surface and/or side of the tablet, especially when being transported in a bag, where it's moving around, or being carried, gripping it on the side where the metal plate sits. I figured with this much money invested in this tablet, I will be more careful and protective of it so be aware and be careful when picking out your case for a tablet or anything else for that matter. Please let me know if this review helps out. Thanks in advance!!...M.

This could be one of the better purchases I've ever made for the price... it's that good. I bought the brown color, which looks and feels like leather. The Note 10.1 normally feels a bit flimsy, and this case while not adding much bulk, firms up the package well. I tried Samsung's own expensive "book cover" and it fails in every way that this one excels. Samsung's is clumsy, doesn't stand right or lay right, and doesn't have magnets that control the display.

The Fintie's functionality is superb, and it rivals the iPad itself with it's smart cover, which I used before this. It can be curled back to make a landscape stand that is safe and doesn't tip even when placed on my bed. It also makes a comfortable way to stand on your chest while laying in bed or your belly while sitting on the couch. For portrait use, just fold it flat on the back or curl it back to half size.

The magnets work well in holding it closed. There are features built into the tablet that take advantage of opening and lighting the display. You can get a calendar and sketch pad (which I have turned off), or also set it to unlock the display when opened. Unfortunately, this doesn't always work, but I think it's the tablet's fault and not the case.

I loved the smart cover on my iPad for table-top or desktop use, since it folded underneath to hold the tablet at the right display angle. That was my first disappointment for this one, since doing it the iPad way has the display upside down with the buttons at the top. Of course it was put that way so the buttons would be at the bottom when the stand is used, but unfortunate for the table-top mode I used often. To make matters worse, until the latest Samsung update, the screen rotation wouldn't work holding the tablet upside down... only on either portrait side. But I found a solution! You just have the tablet right side up angled slightly and then fold up the last flap at the top to a right angle on the base to prop it (I've included a photo to show how). Works perfectly, and is stable with the soft touch back holding it in place.

So, I'm very well-pleased with this case. It's the one to buy without a doubt for the Note 10.1 2014 edition.

Update: Today I hit an unseen patch of gravel while riding my bike back from ballet class and went down hard. My tablet in its Fintie case was in the lightweight, totally-unpadded backpack I use as a dance bag. It clearly took a hit; there's a gouge in the front flap of the case -- but the tablet is perfectly fine. I'm typing his review on it thanks to my Fintie case.

Edit: Still going strong, still no problems with the magnets. Seems pretty durable. Folded stand only really works in one position (the other works only on some surfaces), which is a tad annoying; on the other hand, the viewing-angle of the position in which it *does* work (seen in the main product picture) is great for many settings. I won't be looking for another case any time soon, though I might buy a second one of these in another color, just for fun.

I'm pleasantly surprised with this little case. I failed to notice that it had magnetic features when I ordered, so I was deeply skeptical at first (magnets are notorious for killing the digitized on Galaxy Notes) -- but the magnets seem to be well-places and sufficiently low-powered to prevent damage. The case fits snugly and folds into a useful stand. It's light enough that it doesn't make the tablet feel unwieldy.

I could care less about the auto-wake/sleep feature, and I would rather have a tab-and-slot or similar mechanism for keeping the case closed (because I'm still a bit paranoid about the magnets), but overall I'm satisfied. We'll see how this little case holds up over time.

This is a great case for the money. The leather feels real and the case gas a premium feel to it. I definitely did not expect this as I bought the case to only house my note 10.1 until I could afford the official Samsung case. I will not be buying any other case after using this case for a day.

To be clear, I purchased theFintie Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition Case Cover - Ultra Slim Lightweight Stand Smart Shell. Since there are multiple products I found the reviews confusing about which item. This case fits perfectly. All of the buttons and ports are available with the case on. It also charges with the case on no problem (this was really important to me). The case has a leather like texture that isn't offensive and allows the tablet to look a little more professional (as opposed to pink sequins). I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice case that allows all functionality without removing the case. With the being said, if your are looking for a case with great protection (think otter box type protection) this is not the case for you. While all the corners are protected, I don't think that this case would absorb much of the impact.

Excellent case at an even better price. I bought and returned a few Belkin cases (that cost 3x as much) prior to the Fintie Shell Case as the Belkin ones were either bulky(added twice the width of tablet) or not good as tablet stand (build quality wise was very good). The ratings on Fintie were excellent so took a chance as I'm wasnt too sure of hard plastic look of the backside of cover on the pics. Fortunately the hard plastic is just on the edges and 90% of the outer case is of the faux plastic leather texture and simulates leather feel quite well. Magnetic closure is major plus and is used to keep stand in place as well so cover works great in stand mode. Inside is lined with microfiber and doesnt seem to pick up any objects that would scratch the screen otherwise simple hand swipe will clean it up. Light weight and adds practically no bulk to tablet while providing good protection. Does not scuff/scratch things around it as long as the front side is facing anything scratchable (the hard plastic sides are slight bit taller than faux leather on the backside). Very happy with this case and will be my go to case for future tablets.
