Excellent Tea Filter!,

This review is from: Finum 100 Tea Filters, Large, Brown (Kitchen)
Although I have not used the large size, I do use the Extra Slim size (not offered at Amazon- bummer!) and I do plan on buying some large size for making larger pots of tea. These filters are inexpensive and NO floaty bits left behind to pick out of your tea. I love mixing loose teas to make my own blend. These allow me to do just that. And like other reviewers said - loose leaf tea beats the powdery overpriced bland prepackage stuff by a mile in quality AND cost. Even figuring in the cost of the tea bag. Enjoy!

I, for one, while loving loose teas, hate the stray strands of tea that escape the typical tea egg. But these disposable tea bags solved that problem forever. Check out our video showing how easy these are to use and why we love them.

Perfect for loose tea and coffee,

These filter bags are great for home and travel for when you don't want to use or carry a permanent filter.
For travel, when space, weight and convenience is at a premium: I carry a small stack of these in the smaller individual size to make my own tea and coffee (French press style: coarse ground, 2 tablespoons per cup) when traveling. When done, I can dispose of these in the green bins for organic waste. For home: I use these for spices and herbs that tend to leave an aftertaste on my permanent mesh filters or for herbs that tend to distintergrate into a mess. I also use them to make my coffee/tea in my mug to go when rushing out the door in the morning. These are convenient, lightweight and environmentally friendly (non-bleached) and come in a variety of sizes. Highly reccomended.

Best Tea Bags for Loose Tea & Tip for use,

These are great!
My wife (our resident tea drinker ...) found them larger than she liked. However ... I found if I cut them in half and then used our Food Sealing machine's heat sealing bar, I could close the bags! (Not incidentally doubling the bags to 200!) My wife's a happy camper now, and so am I (the two, of course being linked ...{Grin}). GREAT PRODUCT!

Retain tea flavor. The best tea filter I've ever used!,

After trying different brands of tea filters, Finum is so far my favorite. I use it everyday for loose herbal tea where fine powder is present, the filter keeps all the powder inside. What makes Finum tea filter stands out is that it keeps tea its true flavor while some other brands (perhaps the paper they used) diminish tea flavor. The large tall size is convenient, I don't have to fold the top several times and still have to pray that it doesn't open after a few brew; also works very well in a traveling thermo since the top (opening) can be folded over the lip of any cup. I would not use any other brand of tea filter anymore. My husband now uses it in the coffee machine, too!

Identical to the Adagio filters; work well for loose teas with no additional tools,

These unbleached tea filters (made with abaca pulp, cellulose, and sealing fibre, whatever that is) allow me to enjoy my favorite teas without fiddling with strainers and such. I don't staple them shut or anything - I just fill them with a good amount of tea for my serving size (they are roomy enough for 1-8 servings depending on the tea), fold over the top flap and tuck it into the pocket where the tea goes, and microwave it in my cup of water. I expected to have to do something to hold the top closed, but the teabag rarely leaks out of that top flap. Every so often a leaf or two will escape, but it's not a big enough deal to actually mess with it. I love that I can pre-load them with loose tea so I can grab them and take them on the go. These are well worth the price and save me a lot of money, since a lot of loose teas, especially at ethnic or very high-end shops, are cheaper than bagged. One thing - I was surprised at the size of these filters. I had been used to T-sac filters and Teavana filters which were about 2" by 4". These filters are about 3" by 7". They work just as well for single-serve as the smaller ones, and these also give you the option of making a larger batch of tea, which I appreciate. Since they are the same price per filter as the smaller ones, I like that I can choose to use them for different serving sizes. If you're comparing these to the Adagio filters, I'd get whatever's cheapest. While Adagio says it's made of wood pulp and these have abaca pulp, whatever that is, they look, smell, and act identical, and it would not surprise me in the least to find that these are the exact same product in different packaging.

These make all the difference for enjoying loose tea,
By Melody Bennet "miss_m_bennet" (New York State, USA) - See all my reviews

When I first started using loose leaf tea, I tried all the little gadgets available before finding these little bags. I tried a tea ball, a wire mesh filter, just plopping the leaves in the water... everything I tried ended up making a mess and leaving bits of leaves in my tea. While I do want more fiber in my diet, this was not what I had in mind! These sacks are perfect -- they allow room for the tea to properly brew within the bag, but don't let any pieces escape. Depending on the size you can either do 1 or 2 cups or a large pot. The best part? When the tea is brewed to your satisfaction, just give the sack a squeeze and toss it! Easy to use, no mess and great tasting tea. The best of both worlds!

Smells bad,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Finum 100 Tea Filters, Large, Brown (Kitchen)
The tea filters produce an unpleasant odor after being inserted into hot water.
When they are dry, they produce no smell, so I noticed nothing odd when opening the package. However, after putting the filter in the cup and adding hot water, a very unpleasant and slightly sour smell was produced. I was hoping it would be just a smell, but after drinking some of the tea I could tell that the flavor was affected as well. I tried another tea filter.. this time without adding any tea, to test it on its own, and the same smell was produced. I am not sure how this could have happened, as all of the other reviews for this product are very good. Perhaps this was a bad lot, or maybe their production ingredients/facility changed. |
