Great music like this is impossible to find today., April 18, 2006
This review is from: Fiona (Audio CD)
Fiona is one of the best singers, ahead of her time. Her music is classic and worth checking out. A true diva with all the right moves and talent. If you like real music, check her other CD's HEART LIKE A GUN, and SQUEEZE. Here's to you Fiona. Look forward to your comeback CD scheduled to be released soon, I hope.

Great AOR album, January 14, 2007
This review is from: Fiona (Audio CD)
One of the better "rocker chick" artists of the 80's, Fiona bridged the gap between the Pat Benatar/Scandal pop sound and the so-called metal being served up by Lita Ford and Vixen. Fiona rocked, but there was always a melodic, pop quality to the songs.
Fiona released her self-titled debut album in 1985. With just 8 tracks, it's a brief album, but I think it is still one of her best releases. 1985 was such a good year for this kind of AOR/melodic pop/rock, and this album definitely captures that vibe. "Talk To You" was the minor hit from this album, but nearly all of the songs are "single" quality. It's full of great guitar hooks, catchy melodies, and above all Fiona's powerful voice.
Fans of Annica, Robin Beck, 80's era Heart, and the artists mentioned above should love this album. This is 80's pop/rock perfection.
Edition Notes: The good people at Wounded Bird reissued this album in 2004. While I'm glad the album is back in print, it is a pretty bare-bones reissue. The songs haven't been remastered, there are no bonus tracks, and the liner notes are minimal. They did include a picture of the alternate album cover that went to the European market though.
