Fantastic and Fun Album,

I'm usually not a pop punk guy, but I could not pull this album out of my car for well over a month. The songs have a lot of energy and are incredibly catchy, the singer is fantastic with his pitch and creativity without relying too much on sappy hooks, the production value is outstanding, there's just nothing bad about this album. I'd give standout tracks, but honestly there aren't any sinkers. And I'll take ten short but great songs over three amazing songs and nine fillers.
These guys probably won't be huge because mainstream radio doesn't acknowledge Christian or pop-punk music, but they deserve to be. Recommended for fans of Mayday Parade, Something Corporate, Jimmy Eat World.

Talented musicians. Awesome stuff. Sad to see that they won't be making more music together.

This CD is great! There are maybe 1 or 2 of the tracks that i will probably not ever listen to unless I'm just playing the whole CD in sequence and is also the reason it didn't get a full 5 stars (if i could have i would have given it 4.5), but the rest of the songs are really good. Great vocals, catchy lyrics and choruses, good beat, nice rhythm. There are very few CD's that i listen to or buy because I'm picky about music, and i do not like just one genre of music, but this is one of those CD's that i will be able to listen to over and over.
The thing i like about this band/CD is that unlike a lot of newer rock/punk/whateveryouwantocallit music/bands of recent years, that although may be good and have a nice sound, are forgettable. This is NOT that... this band/CD stuck in my head after the first time i listened to it. It's a MUST buy.

I hardly ever write reviews on amazon, but this album is so good, I felt compelled to. Lastfm recommended this band to me, I typically listen to anberlin, the foo fighters, and that kind of thing. This album does not have one bad song on it. They are all super energetic, and very melodic. I wish this band was still around so they would make another album this good, but alas they are not. :[It was announced that they are indeed making a new album due out in spring of next year. Can't wait :]

This is one of the few albums where you can start from Track 1 and listen through until the very end. An amazing album.

One of my new favorites,

I originally bought this album just wanting some high-energy post-punk songs to kind of expand that particular genre in my collection. I never expected the band to be this good. Right when you start the opening track ("Sun of a Gun") and here the very first drum fill you understand just how good these guys are.
This album has a definate indie/post-punk feel to it that is very rare to find. The guitar craft throughout is fantastic, the vocals sound great, and the lyrics are very creative and avoid your typical cliches. One of the most stand-out parts of this album is their usage of the hardcore breakdowns in catchy songs. They do this right on the first track and also many other times throughout the album. This is one of the bands where the double bass pedal just obviously sticks out in the beat. All-in-all I would say that of the post-punk genre, these guys are now one of my favorites.

An Amazing Debut,

I haven't had this much fun listening to a CD in a long time. Every track is worth listening to, and each is unique. My favorites: Ambulance Chaser, and the wonderful Clocks And Timepieces. This is a band that has serious potential, and the rare combination of equally strong members. Vocals, guitar, percussion...they all keep up with each other. Okay, if you enjoy bands like Anberlin, Paramore, Quietdrive, etc., you will love Search The City.

AWESOME ALBUM!,

I love every single song! Sure the beats sound similar for the tracks but every song is still very catchy! Great band! Highly recommended to anyone who likes Cartel, Acceptance, Anberlin, 3 Doors Down, etc etc! BUY THIS NOW! You won't regret it! SEARCH THE CITY ROCKS!

Fun but ultimately formulaic and forgettable. Meant to give it 2 stars haha :),

I think the songs are all very fun. They are pop songs ultimately and anyone that denied that would be lying to themselves. :)
But as you listen to each song, tap your hand to the beat and you'll notice that the tempo is almost exactly the same in every song. This may not mean too much to you but to me (and most people that are musically inclined) it says that they don't put much thought into their songs. Every song is fairly catchy but musically there's nothing new, fresh or original at all. Simply another album full of versechorusversechorusbridgechorus songs that adds nothing to the music scene. I'm sure lyrically it's inspiring since they're a pseudo-christian band but ultimately this band is just another carbon copy of every other pop-rock-indie band out there: fun in some ways, catchy, but forgettable.

Great debut album from StC. Unique harmonic rifts are what really set them apart from a vast majority of the bands surfacing in the alternative music world today.
