This book is okay. It has some nice old photos. However, it lacks the detailed captions that would have put the photos and the cars pictured into context and explained how they illustrate the development of chief's cars. One sentence is information is really not enough. Also, as with anything by Wood and Sorenen, it is very heavy on left coast photos. There are very few East coast departments featured. Overall, it is a nice book that fits well in the Iconografix line.
