although i still miss nintendo power's guides for fire emblem, this one is much better than prima's last attempt(radiant dawn). more stats less opinion. my only complaints would be that once again only stats for normal mode are included (nintendo power would simply put the additional reinforcements and such that accompany other mode[s] in a different font color, i don't see why prima can't do the same) and i would also like some more artwork there's only 11 of the 'character portraits' (the larger ones, they also have thumbnails of all the characters) and those are half the reason why i buy these guides

As my title says, this is not the worst strategy guide that I've ever used. Neither is it the best. The guides for all previous FE titles were much more indepth; this does little more than tell which characters are required to recruit others and show a nice map layout. It is very useful if, like me, you're only interested in making sure that you recruit all possible characters. If you're looking for assistance with your strategizing or tactics, you're better off to look someplace else.

Overall opinion? Not worth the cover price.

Excellent strategy guide with lots of detailed information. This guide is very helpful if Shadow Dragon is the first Fire Emblem game that you have played. The appendices section of this guide is very well done and contains lots of extremely useful information. You can find all of this same information on the internet but if you prefer to have this information at your finger tips in hardcopy form and dislike starring at a computer monitor then definitely buy this guide! Plus it is very cheap now since it is a few years old now so there is no reason not to get it.
