Book Description

8 and up3 and up
Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin (W.i.t.c.h.) are five ordinary friends with an extraordinary secret: they each have the power to control a natural element-air, water, fire, earth, and finally, the mysterious "Heart of Candracar." The girls use their powers to guard against evil and to uncover the truth behind mysterious portals leading to other worlds. Between school, family, and a new interest in boys, these girls had enough to worry about! But now they have the secret to turn into a group of friends with special powers . . . destined to fight the evil Prince Phobos in the magic world of Metamoor. W.i.t.c.h. combines fashion and fantasy, magic and middle school, heroism and humor, friendship and family, teamwork and transformation, in a wholesome mix proven to charm the tween girl market. Introducing a hybrid format that combines four-color comics with a traditional chapter book format.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fire is right!, September 5, 2005
This review is from: Fire of Friendship (W.I.T.C.H. Chapter Book, No. 4) (Paperback)
This book is full of conflict, Cornelia and Will are butting heads constantly. Conrnelia is having trouble not being the leader of the group. Her personality clashes with her role in the team. In addition she bags on Will constantly about leaving Taranee behind in the last mission. Will is constantly upset because she can telepathically hear her friend calling out to her but she can't get her answer though to her. Meanwhile in Metamoor Elyon is torturing Taranee and trying to brainwash her into beliving her friends have forgotten her. Back in Heatherfield not only Will misses Taranee but Irma and Hay Lin are off their games as well distant from reality. So the team finally put their differeces aside to go and save Taranee from Eylon. However when they get there will Taranee let her friends save her or not?

3.0 out of 5 stars Review of W.I.T.C.H. #4 by Julia, a 9 year old girl, July 17, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Fire of Friendship (W.I.T.C.H. Chapter Book, No. 4) (Paperback)
This book was pretty good, and had a good ending. In the previous book, Taranee gets herself locked in a bubble to save the rest of the Guardians. They come to Meridian to save her, only to discover that she'd already melted it. Elyon and Cedric were pretty surprised at that. I didn't care for the way that a lot of the book was centered around Taranee, and that Cornelia kept saying that she should be leader, not Will. I don't blame W.I.T.C.H. for doing so much for Taranee, because they probably missed her. If I were a Guardian, I would do the same for a member of the group.
