Indian hunters find a young child alone in the woods. The hunters are amazed by the child's bright red hair and give her the name Fire In Her Hair. Fire In Her Hair is loved and taught the ways of the People. But, when one young boy makes fun of her and calls her names because she looks a little different, Fire In Her Hair doubts herself. Out of fear and anger, she strikes out at the boy. This is the story of how Fire In Her Hair learns that it takes courage to be a friend, both to yourself and to others.
