About the Author

For more than three decades, Winkie Pratney has traveled extensively to challenge and inspire teenagers and college students to holy and happy living. He has worked with Campus Life, Champions for Christ, Operation Mobilization, Masters Commission, Youth With a Mission, Young Life, Youth Alive and Teen Challenge. He has authored more than twelve books including Youth Aflame! and the Handbook for Followers of Jesus. Winkie, his wife, Facona, and son, Billy, reside a portion of the year in New Zealand and the other portion in Texas.

More About the Author

Sean Smith's roots are in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he grew up in the inner city of Oakland. Amidst family tragedy, which included the untimely murder of his father, Sean found his life reeling with pain, but his testimony includes the phenomenal intervention of God.

Sean has spent approximately 20 years in full-time ministry, 10 of which was spent directing campus outreach ministries at the University of the Pacific and California State University Chico Campuses.

Sean has now been launched into full-time evangelism, conducting outreaches and crusades all over the States and overseas. Sean's messages are prophetic, challenging people to fulfill their destiny in Christ. Sean's services witness the Holy Spirit's supernatural release to meet people with a heart of compassion and to touch their needs. In addition to his evangelistic ministry, Sean has served as the Director of Spiritual Life at Bethany College in Scotts Valley, California. In May of 2001, Sean received a Masters in Ministry from the Wagner Leadership Institute. Sean's writings have been published in several nation-wide publications. The Smith family currently resides in San Ramon, California.

In a year full of Christian doomsayers cranking out books about Y2K and the "last days," it's so refreshing to find a Christian author like Winkie Pratney, who expresses hope for this generation of young people. Winkie Pratney's passion for young people is evident throughout this very readable book, as is his sense of hope for the future.

As Pratney says in this book, "This is not your father's revival." And he's right. We in the ministry can benefit from Pratney's wisdom and prophetic insight to do what we can to guide young people -- while understanding that this is their revival, not ours.

Everyone involved in youth ministry -- or in *any* ministry, for that matter -- should read this book.

Why is this generation different? This book will tell you as a very intelligent and very spiritual man (who doubtless has spent hours upon hours in broken prayer before the Lord)shows us what the coming revival will look like. Not like the false "revivals" that we see now. This will come and be world-changing and generation-shaking. I recommend it for youth leaders and youth alike. Get serious. Seek God. Read the Word of God after that read this book, too!
