talented but..., May 7, 2007
This review is from: On Fire: Hottest Bellydance Dvd Ever (DVD)
Something is lacking in this DVD... Every dancer is smiling, but I get the impression that its just their faces; they lack the presence the have in their other works, especially Ansuya and Rania. They still dance beautifully and the technique is superb; I recomend this DVD for those true fans of the dance form, but if you are a beginner looking to be inspired, try one of the Belly Dance Super Stars solos DVDs which are a bit more polished & aware of showmanship.

Shaky Camera!, May 15, 2009
This review is from: On Fire: Hottest Bellydance Dvd Ever (DVD)
The first two dances by Jillina's and the first dance by Tam. Hanna are good, and the rest are ok. Good classical choice of music. As for the title, "On Fire" is just exaggerated since in parts, the dancers smiles are false. But the real problem with this dvd is the camera work. With better camerawork, this dvd could have been a collector's item as least for technique if not for the performances. The camera work is shaky which takes a lot from appreciating the dancers performing moves. In parts, the camera moves backward and forward at the same time as it moves up and down. As if the person holding the camera was dancing at the same time as filming the performances. Sorry but that doesn't get more than one star if you have seen good quality work that is worth watching many times.

CD;s on fire, hot, hot, hot!, March 19, 2010
This review is from: On Fire: Hottest Bellydance Dvd Ever (DVD)
I've been 'trying' to bellydance for the last 10 yrs or so. These ladies really make these extremely difficult moves (for me, at least), look so easy and fluent. I love this DVD. I've taken alot of my other Belly Dance DVD's to work with me, to let my patients watch, to try to get their minds off of their pain, but I definately wouldn't take this one! I love it, it just seems , well, it's beautiful, but if you're not into the art, you might take alot of the moves the wrong way. It's very passionate dancing, not anything at all like I'm making it sound, I don't mean to, it's just a bit much to expect others not to see it wrong. It's a beautiful DVD and I love it for my own Belly Dance library.
