After the original line-up of the Sonics split, a band who were The Sonics only in name kept on going. This music isn't bad, it's just a far cry from the 1965-66 Sonics. So if you're after the 200 MPH, wigged out, totally rockin', brilliant Sonics, look elsewhere.

Maybe the reason I like this CD as much as I do, is that I'm totally unfamiliar with the original line-up of the Sonics. I've heard the name many times before, believe this is like the second title I've ever heard of theirs. For that matter, this might even be a DIFFERENT Sonics than the first CD I checked out before. Heard there are like three different bands of the same name. A mite confusing, no? Basically, just good old school garage rock&roll. Best tunes are "Love-It Is", "Lost Love", "I'm Right", "Near My Soul" and the two BEST tracks off the entire CD, the wailing "Good Hard Rock" and "Only She Would Do". Should appeal to fans of the Standells, Trashmen, Kingsmen, Count Five and Shadows Of Knight.
