They are easy to install.

When closing the station however, you have to press rather hard and make sure both the top and bottom of the station are closed after locking.

I recommend these pull stations for offices, residential and hotels and everything between.

I own one of these. This is a very nice pull station. Very easy to use and resists false alarms. This is a non-addressable pull station which means it works on any non-addressable fire alarm control panel. A great feature is the pull does not activate if it is opened. That's good in case it accidentally gets broken. It is made of strong plastic so that should not be much of a worry. Another cool feature is there are braille markings on the pull station for the blind. The word "ACTIVATED" appears in yellow when this pull station is activated.

The BG-12L is the key-lock version of the regular BG-12, which uses a hex wrench. Other than that, this review applies to most other models.

The BG-12 is a fairly good pull station. All parts are made of plastic, which makes it lightweight, but it also seems like it would break easily if struck accidentally. The dual action pull operates smoothly (Meets ADA standards) and activates with a audible clunk. When activated, the pull station displays a yellow stripe across the top of the handle that says "ACTIVATED" which can be seen from a distance. Additionally, a small plastic tab extends from the bottom of the unit when activated.

The unit is rather hard to reset. After unlocking the station with the supplied key, one must pull rather hard to open the station; it feels like you're breaking the station when you open it. After opening it, the handle snaps back up to the normal position and the switch can be reset by hand, or simply just by closing the station and re-locking it, a nice feature. When closing the station however, you have to press rather hard and make sure both the top and bottom of the station are closed after locking.

A feature on this pull absent from many others is the braille instructions molded into the handle. Additionally, pictograms are supplied on some parts of the station to assist in operation and reset.

A pretty good pull station for the price overall, but if you need durability in your device, you may want to purchase an all metal pull station such as the BG-6, also from Fire*Lite, or a different all metal device.

Purchased to replace a pull station that was broken. replaced it well and works fine. Connected to existing wiring easily. but if your system is addressable, it wont work with it.
