Musical lessons shine!
I expected this video, which uses many songs to get fire safety rules across to children, to be too silly. I showed it to my first grade class and they absolutely loved it! They asked to see it again and again. The songs are a bit long and sometimes silly, but the children loved them. They also understood the safety rules perfectly, even though the rules were often buried...

Entertaining for young kids but real message gets lost
Entertaining for the Barney-set but I don't believe most children would "get" the fire safety message or understand how serious and dangerous fire is. A valiant effort but disappointing.

I expected this video, which uses many songs to get fire safety rules across to children, to be too silly. I showed it to my first grade class and they absolutely loved it! They asked to see it again and again. The songs are a bit long and sometimes silly, but the children loved them. They also understood the safety rules perfectly, even though the rules were often buried within songs. Hector the Smoke Detector was a favorite of my class and everytime we saw a smoke detector, my class would start singing the smoke detector song. I highly recommend this video to children of younger ages.
