Rear sight did not get much clearance above the receiver of my boy's stock Ruger 10/22.

These sights work really well, and are a major improvement over the stock sights. Both the front and rear sights light up with ambient light and are much easier to see and get lined up on the target. With these sights I am able to shoot penny sized groups of three at 50 yards, and I dont have good eyesight. That's the good news.

The bad news is that removing the old Ruger stock sights and installing these is really a hassle. This is largely due to the fact that Ruger designed their sights to last a lifetime and to never ever slip or fall off.

There are couple of good videos on YouTube which show how to get the old sights off, you should look these up and watch them carefully before starting. Even then its not easy, the old sights are factory installed metal dovetails, and they need to be hammered out using a brass rod or punch.

The dovetails are slightly tapered, so they have to come out in the opposite direction that they came in! If I could remember for sure which direction is correct..I'd tell you here!! Check out YouTube..!!! I would recommend soaking the connection between the old sight bases and old sights with easing oil overnight before trying to remove the old sights.

When you have the old sights off you have to hammer the new sights in... the rear sight is much easier than the front sight.

Another weird issue is that there are NO instructions included with the Williams sights.

The front sight needs to be installed so that the sides of its base are exactly flush with the sight base on the muzzle.

The rear sight is windage adjustable after installation...to do this you relieve the height adjustment screw and the rear screw, then the sight slides fairly easily laterally. There are no markings to assist with that, another odd omission, but I got it bang on in a couple of tries.

For me it was worth the effort, but if you're not careful you can damage the sight mounts on the gun itself.

Installed the fire sights on my 10/22 and got it out on the range today. I purchased these after reading what little reviews there was to be found. The install was about 15-20minutes. Not difficult if you have a good hammer to whack out the old sights with. You really should use a brass punch to drift out the old sights and tap in the new. If you don't, you will mark them up. I sighted them in today and only needed to tap the rear sight over a hair. After that it was a pleasure to shoot, it is such an improvement over the factory sights. The illumination is excellent in the day time. You could sight your target quickly made transitioning from target to target a breeze. For the price, a great addition to improve your ruger.

First, I was sent the wrong product. The subvendor, Grand Slam Sports and Outdoors, was quick and responsive about the return. The Caveat: The front sight is not study, with the light collecting plasic held by three tiny metal clips to the front sight. It is not strong enough to withstand being hammered into the dovetail. If you buy these sights, use your trusty triangular file to remove metal from the front sight until it will go mostly into the dovetail with finger pressure. If you go too far, use epoxy glue or similar to retain the sight in the slot. Otherwise, you will put the brass front sight back in place if you want to go shooting, and you have to pound the heck out of that one too.

Keep happy!

Rear sight is exceptionally bright, but does not adjust very high for aiming at farther targets. Front Sight picks up light well, but the dot is quite small for my taste compared to other fiber optic sight sets.

The Williams Firesights are simply the best fiber optic sights available for the Ruger 10/22. I have installed a half dozen of these on friends rifles as well as two of mine (okay one was my wife's). All you need is a vise, brass punch and a hammer. Don't forget that the front sight is a tapered dovetail that must be removed from left to right. If you don't feel comfortable with the installation, take it to a gunsmith. The charge should be no more than $25

I give this one star for the add. If it had a model # I would not have purchased.
It is not what is pictured. What you get is model # 60213 which is a nice set of
sights for a stock 10/22. I needed the tall front sight as pictured.
Total waste of time and money.
