The illustrations on the cards in this deck vary greatly in artistic merit from pretty good to moderately awful. While the illustrations on most of the Major Arcana are fairly appropriate if rather generic, none of the illustrations on the Minor Arcana have any symbolic relevance to the cards upon which they were haphazardly slapped. All of the art pieces are squeezed into an ugly orange border with the title of the cards in four languages in a bland font. The manual includes vague descriptions of the cards and their art with a really lame excuse for each piece of art having been attached to its card. This is nothing but a cheap effort to sell the artist's mostly mediocre work alongside a few pieces that are passable. I'm extremely disappointed in this deck, and as I'm trying to self-teach varying methods of divination, this deck's lack of visual symbolism makes it completely worthless to me for that purpose. I would rather have spent the same money on lithograph prints of the 4 or 5 images in the entire deck that were even worth looking at.

Well, I was just a bit disappointed by this tarot.

It's not a bad deck, and for some folks, i think it might make a beautiful and novel addition to ones collection. It's very unconventional, and uses Fire related themes in each of its cards. The result is interesting, but at times it doesnt really feel like a true tarot.

So i'll lay out some pros and cons.

Pros-

* The imagery in this deck borrows from a host of multicultural themes, and as such makes a great vehicle for learning about beliefs and ideas from communities outside of ones own orbit, and outside of accepted tarot conventions.

*The artwork is very skillfully rendered.

*The author expands the ideas in each card in some very novel ways.

Cons-

*Being such an unconventional deck, I find it hard to see a strong relationship between Pips and their meanings. The pips are portrayed in purely narrative form, with little or no suite imagery.

Sometimes those narratives really seem to fall far away from the accepted meanings in each card. They seem more like cards in which a narrative in taking place, but one only tenuously applicable to the tarot.

So, as much as I hate to do it, i would have to give this deck a very mediocre 3.

I expected this to be a dynamic deck with amazing colors and intricate pictures. I was completely disappointed when I received it and would have returned it if I had been able to. The pictures themselves are boring and the colors are dull and listless. I find nothing to complement here. I am so sadly disappointed:(

Don't waste your money, with little meaning and a poorly conceived distracting border these cards are paperweights at best. The card descriptions are useless if you can divine anything from these you are not using the cards as an aid.
