This is one of the most innovative, amazing barbecue inventions in some time. The "old" skewers that everyone used, metal or wood, were hard to fit on the grill with the hot dogs, hamburgers and steaks. These flexible skewers are just that . . . flexible. If you find you are running out of space there always seems to be just enough to fit these in. These are stainless steel, won't rust, and are easy to pick up . . . no burnt fingers or wooden skewers falling apart when they start to burn.

One other plus is when you want to marinate. With the other straight skewers your meats and veggies had to be marinated separately and were a royal pain to put on the skewer with all the juices dribbling on the counter or in your hands. With these you fill your skewer and they just curl up in a bag or bowl. Next stop is the grill. No fuss, no muss. I'd recommend getting the package of six . . . if you do the math, the larger quantity is less expensive. If you have a long weekend or a large crowd, you'll be able to make shish kebobs ahead of time and just pull them from the fridge.

Here's a little marinade recipe for you to enjoy:

1/4 cup white OR brown sugar
˝ cup soy sauce
1/3 cup canola oil
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
2 crushed garlic cloves
Dash ground ginger

This recipe is especially tasty with chicken chunks!

So here is the scene... We are on a boat, with a round grill. The normal skewers hang off then ends, and you cannot close the lid. A wave hits and dinner goes overboard!

But no such worry with these Fire Wire Stainless Steel Flexible Grilling Skewers. They hold tons of food, and can be wrapped around to fit on the grill with out trouble. They are also fantastic for marinades because you can put the meat/vegetables on the skewer and then coil the entire combination into your sauce!

Great item for shish kabobs. No fuss and you can utilize the entire grill top since you can bend the wires to fit any position.

I was turned on to these probably 2+ years ago, now their a hit apparently... and rightfully so. They hold 2 or 3x the quantity of food and just make kabobing soooooo much easier and fun. They cool to the touch in seconds, too. This is one of those inventions you just can't help but wish you had thought of. Absolute MUST HAVE for any grill...and not just the fanatics.

These grilling skewers are the greatest idea. They are easy to use, and can be bent to fit the grill. No more charred sticks for shish-ka-bob. My husband loves the fact that he can marinate in any shape container, because the skewers can be loaded and bent to fit bowls or pans. We enjoyed ours so much, we got some more for gifts. I would highly recommend these for your grilling. And, they are stainless steel. What a plus!

I bought a set of these skewers as I love to grill and I have found traditional skewers to be awkward and cumbersome.

First and foremost, these are flexible steel cable, not rigid stainless rods. The tips are pins, though, and that allows threading on food to be a simple and nearly effortless. This is a blessing in itself. The tips are a little wider than typical skewers though, so it does require a little bit of care when threading. Once threaded, though, the texture of the cable has a good tendency to hold food items steady in place. This is especially helpful when turning on the grill.

Because these are stainless steel these skewers will not react with food or with flavorings. This, paired with the fact that these are flexible, provide and opportunity not available with traditional skewers - the skewers and food can be soaked in marinade without ill effects. This is a great benefit as it is not necessary to cover one's hands in marinade while stringing food on the skewers.

These are longer than average skewers, too, so it is possible to string more food onto them. It is easy to optimize use of space too, by snaking the skewers on the grilling surface.

Finally, the tips stay cool when you hang them over the end of the grilling surface. The lid of the grill will even close with the ends hanging over the sides.

These are excellent skewers and make grilling with them instead of with traditional skewers eaiser and more pleasant.

I really, really wanted these to work well. The threading is a dream, and grilling is easy, but getting the food off the kabobs is super-difficult. We usually slide the food off the kabobs onto a big plate for everyone to spear with their own toothpicks, and it is a nightmare trying to get the food off these flexible, hot, swinging skewers.
