Overall, this is a pretty good mount, but the mounting hardware leaves a lot to be desired. I stripped out two of the tapped holes, to the point where I could not remove the mounting bracket from my truck. I ended up cutting the screws, and drilling new holes and using bolts to mount it. I JB Welded the nuts to the bottom bracket since I couldn't get a wrench inside the Stake Hole. Once I did that, it worked great. I think in the future, I would make one of these brackets having seen all there is to it, but overall it does what is says. If you do go with this, make sure you don't tighten the screws too tight, or you will be stuck doing what I did.

This bracket sandwiches two steel plates around your stake hole. The bottom plate is small and and doesnt always grab, i had to cock mine to the side alittle to make it catch. You can see in the photo, the bottom steel plate is smaller. Also Two of the bolts broke. I drilled out the holes and installed a few bolts and locking nuts to torque it down.
It is now installed but , But not totally Flawless.

This item solves the problem for where to mount a CB Antenna without drilling your Pickup Bed. I did Drill and Tap mine to accept a 1/4" bolt for more strength.

I purchased two of theses, one for my 5 foot Firestick and one for my Comet SSB-7 Ham radio mast. Be aware that the hardware that comes with this kit is crap. After i installed the first time it would keep coming loose and i would constantly have to tighten them up. Also to the Ham radio crowd this mount does not self ground. I ended up giving up and going with a custom mount based off this one that just held up better. Great for a 16 year olds Toy, but for a serious radio CB, or HAM, Not the way to go.

I installed this on my 2014 RAM 1500. I put it on the forward most, passenger side, stake hole. I snaked the coax through the stake hole, and into the cab from the under floor bin, in the back seat of my crew cab. Once I had my CB antenna tuned for SWR, I put RTV silicone all over this mount to ensure it is water proof. This turned out to be a very clean install. I like the fact that with this mount I didn't have to drill any holes into my truck. The silicone will ensure that I won't have to worry about water intrusion or rust while still being easy to remove if I choose to. Some people reviewed it as cheap but I didn't have any problems at all. In fact, this mount was one of the easiest parts of my whole project. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that want's to mount a CB antenna to a pick-up truck.

This mount only lasted one road trip... then my antenna was flopping all over the place... bad thing is that you need to take it all apart to tighten the bolt again...not a fun task. I purchased something that allows me to tighten the center bolt without tearing it all apart... I'll let you know if the other unit...I'd start away from this one.

I'm only giving this three starts because it does work after much trial and error. This concept it great but, if you have a modern truck with truck bed liner and reinforced bed rails it's not easy to install. I tried to install it the way it was intended, but the extension that goes through the bed rail is not long enough to go through my truck bed. So now it's just mounted by a couple bolts on the bed rail and the cb cable hookup at the bottom is just hanging in the truck bed in the corner. Not a very secure way to do it but it works. I would recommend a different cb mount.
