No cookie-cutter anthems here; technically sound originals and nicely reworked divas, November 21, 2005
This review is from: Fireball 3 (Audio CD)
While Centaur was forced to utilize technology that would keep fans from burning and freely sharing their discs (can you blame them? can anyone make an honest living in the music biz anymore?!) they continue to be THE label that provides event-based compilations. We may have (sadly) seen the final Fireball event but Paulo's CD continues to provide a hot and deep soundtrack for a more sophisticated ear. You want your "pink ponytails"
beatmatched into the next top 40 track? Go elsewhere; otherwise stick around and shake it for a sexy trip.

I love DJ Paulo, don't like the CD, May 13, 2005
This review is from: Fireball 3 (Audio CD)
The CD is copy-protected. You cannot save the files as MP3s. The Flash software on the CD says you can make WMA copies of the files and play them in Windows Media Player (or use the Carbonlib extension on MAC). No wonder the CD is not being sold directly from Amazon and takes a few days to deliver. Whatever specialty retailer is selling the CDs does not care about the computer-based audience. People want to use their Ipods to listen to music. Not be stuck using old-time CD Players. I don't put on this type of CD in the car because I only want to hear like 4 or five songs. It ends up being a waste of space.
The music was good. I especially liked tracks 1 and 4 but I will only be listening the once. The CD will go to my Archive Pile since I can't walk around with any of the music.
Kind of useless if you ask me.
If I was taking the time to buy the CD why would I be giving away the songs to other people?
I obviously appreciate the music enough to buy it and not download a copy but... Since the record company (Centaur) does not seem to trust its own customers I guess I will have to avoid their CDs. I guess I will have to look on ITunes and Beatport for the songs I like.
If you want a great non-copy protected CD look at Live@Roxy 4 by Peter Rauhofer. Great CD
