# Fly around the Living room in Fireball XL5., February 2, 2007
This review is from: Fireball XL5 Die Cast Vehicle World Space Patrol Gerry Anderson (Toy)

When I first saw that a Die-cast model of XL5 was going to be released, for a while I was back in 1962.
It was an Immediate "must buy", but at £39.99 it wasn't going to be a cheap piece of memorabilia.
The model itself has a comfortably heavy weight to it.
"Fireball junior" (The Nosecone) detaches and reattaches from the main body with a strong in-built magnet.
The level of detail is excellent, even the cabin crew of Steve Zodiac and Robert the Robot.
I have a slight criticism (not with the model) with the Stand that comes with it, it is a bit fiddly to seat the model on. (After playing with it)
But Overall, a great piece of Nostalgia. And worth every penny.
Go on, fly around the Living room in Fireball XL5!

Like the Stingray I reviewed earlier, this is a toy that doesn't really have any educational value, but like Stingray, this is die cast of a very high quality. The detailing is also exceptional. One really nice feature is that Fireball Junior separates and re-attaches using a very strong magnet. They refer to this as a toy, but the detailing is good enough to be considered a scale model.
Since the series was in black and white, you have to trust the manufacturers to get the coloring right. I had a plastic toy set when I was a kid (I'm talking early 1960's); a rather large Fireball (18"?) with removable Junior, take-off ramp and buildings. From what I remember, the coloring of this version is right.
For fans of this series, this toy/model would be highly enjoyable.
