David Newhardt. It also had a role in pop culture as Burt Reynolds drove a Trans Am in Smokey and the Bandit and young David Hasselhoff took direction from his talking Trans Am in Knight Rider. While 1970s environmental and insurance interests emasculated most muscle cars, the Trans Am made a defiant last stand. In 1973, Pontiac introduced the mighty Trans Am Super Duty 455, one of the fastest muscle cars ever. Ok, but too short,

A nice entry in the musclecar color history series, but too few pages to cover this range of models over so many years. For example one book in this color history series covers Mustang over only just 1979 to 1998. There are better recent books on the Firebird, Trans Am that cover all the models.

This book is a MUST for any fan of the Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am
It goes into great detail of the cars history and has some real quality colour pictures. It even delves into the Tv/Movie appearances this fantastically designed 4 wheeled wonder has made history in. The fact alone The Performance Pontiac was discontinued in 2002 is a great shame and i know i'm not alone in stating it IS greatly missed and WAS a big mistake. Get this softback book NOW , i don't think you'll be dissappointed...............

Another Newhardt book that is great, On a Great Car, Firebird Trans AM. Pontiac please Bring it back, Just like they brought back the Camaro.
Book Is excellent on Reading and photos.
